Anybody remember the deal that was suspposed to have WCW running a few events a years on NBC? I think they were supposed to air Sunday nights against WWF PPV's, starting in Februrary? How did it fall through?

NBC needed programming because there was an NBA lockout, and they started negotiating with Bischoff. A year or two eariler, Bischoff would have been able approve the deal himself. However, by early-1999, he had to clear it with a bunch of people above him at Turner. That caused him to have to delay getting back to the people at NBC, which annoyed them.
Finally, the people above Bischoff at Turner said they didn't want to do it for some BS reason that really got Bischoff pissed (something about advertising), and the NBA lockout ended. That was the end of it.

You'd think they could have utilized The WB, but I remember hearing that Time Warner was kind of a nightmare when it came to synergy.
