I thought I ask one of the largest and interesting group of people I figure I get some answers. I was wondering what kind of advice you all can give me.
I'm looking to make some extra cash if possible without getting a second job. I'm not what you call in a financial hole or anything major like that. Just wanting a little extra spending money on the side. Also have a vacation planned in Sept. to NY and maybe adding a little extra to the saving would be nice.
So I ask what are some ideas where I could make a little extra without getting a second job and is legal. Or is there anything out there that meets these.
The only issues I have is I'm not very skilled in an area that I could do like outside jobs like paint or home maintaince ane ext. I work full time in retail so my hours are not set enough where I do stuff like mow grass or something of that nature. With limited time because I work 40 hours a week. What you got FAN?
So what you got FAN?

Honestly, a quick go-to is signing up for focus and market research studies. I get picked for one at least once every two weeks and I end up getting anywhere from $50-100 an hour just to sample a new product or beverage.

To sign up, yes, but all the ones I've done have either involved taking products home and filling out a survey or going into an office to complete the testing.

Did you horde stuff at one point or another? If so, check out eBay. I made about $4,000 in 2012 from selling stuff there. Random video game merch/freebies, action figures, games, movies, and magazines.
You'd be surprised at what some of your stuff is worth. Yes, it can be time consuming, but it's worth it for the cash.
Now if only I can figure out where all that money went...

Thanks for the replies guys. I would sell stuff on e-bay if I had that kind of stuff. But with a 2011 tornado killed that dead. So I spend the last year replacing what I had. I may have like a hand ful a games to sell but if I get a lot for them questionable I think. PS2 games really go for much?
The Focus and Marketing Studies sounds like a good opinion.

I have this app called EasyShift on my iPhone that has seemingly simple tasks. Stuff isn't always available in my area but it gives me a list of jobs that usually deal with going to a grocery or box store and check for a display or if there is a certain product on the shelf. You get paid via PayPal and the shifts are usually >$10 but to walk into a Target and snap a photo of a display, it is easy money and if there are lots of jobs in a small area, you can rack up pretty quickly. I have picked up some money on my lunch breaks from my job.
If you can get into secret shopping, you can save lots of money on groceries but I wouldn't know how to get into it. I would do it if I could.

The Easyshift App sounds cool but it's only an Iphone App it looks like which I don't have one. If it was Android able I would tried it. Secret shopper I think is the same way as a focus and Marketing studies. A google search would work. When I looked into the Focus and Marketing studies city it was there as an opinion I think.
Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I welcome all ideas for sure.

I have artistic ability, and last year I discovered the world of sketch cards. Anyway, I've been creating art sketch cards, which are the size of baseball cards, and selling them on eBay. Between July and December 2012 I made around $1,000, all because I have SOME degree of artistic ability and am able to produce lots of cards, given their small size. If you have artistic ability, you should look into it and possibly start creating and selling art on eBay, whether it's sketch cards or regular-sized art.

If I was good at drawing or anything of that nature I would do that. But I'm not blessed with that gift. Unless stick figures becomes an art form people would give money for. Which I don't see that happening.

I occasionally house sit for people I know. I also watch/walk dogs.
If you could find a way to do either of those, that could get ya a bit of money.

I make my extra money by selling via Print on demand sites (Cafepress, zazzle etc), text and photo based designs sell well so you don't need much in the way of artistic skills.
Blogging.
Both of those are unlikely to make you much though and will only bring in money if you put the time/work in which it sounds like you may not be able to do. It takes a while to get those going though so are more long-term options than quick cash before September (especially as Christmas is the most lucrative period on PoD sites).
Cashback websites, if you have to make any big purchases/renew insurance etc anyway you may as well get some money back.
As you work retail I'm guessing you have a couple of days off during the week, if so exam invigilating or mystery shopping could be options.

*writes down these ideas.* This also helps me out. I've got some logo making and artistic/illustration ability(although I'm limited to Photoshop and illustrator know-how). Any suggestion, Fanners?
For me, any tiny, miniscule amount is good.

There are different ways of monetising blogs, most commonly through advertising (eg Google AdSense). You need to be committed, good, and build up a large audience to make anything though, I worked out pretty quickly it wasn't for me so can't offer any tips.
Oh and I'll mention microjob/elancing sites for glitch, if you really don't mind working for such minuscule amounts there's loads of people offering logos designs on fiverr, there'd be a lot of competition though.

These are some great ideas and I'm glad I'm not the only one taking the suggestions into there own ideas. I did try Cafe press last year but the issue I have is I have no idea in promoting the stuff to get people to buy it. I mean all good idea you may have as in a funny saying shirt. There going to be 100s similar. How to get it ahead and notice is what I have trouble with and is tricky.
Is there a tip for that?

I have had a lot of luck with Swagbucks. Never heard of it. But I installed it to see if I can get anything out of it. Thanks for the idea.
