It always amazes me how much Rock polarizes the IWC.
The one figure that is universally(*) loved by Fans(/"marks") and the outside media and non-fans; is the one we spend most of our time discussing and a fair amount of us hating him.
It's just funny really, you'd think we were rebelling against his popularity or something. (*) Cena isn't.

I ought to watch Raw without the discussion thread more often, because I had more fun with the show than I usually do.
The best two things were the TLC match. If Ryback hasn't proved that he can wrestle good matches by now, I'm not sure what to tell you and the Rock/Punk promo at the end.
Rock in particular was on fire - "cookiepuss", candy bars, the whole thing was great. Punk was pretty good, too and they clicked very well together, and I say this as someone who's grown tired of Punk for a while. Right blend of comedy and intensity.

Rock's promo did exactly as he said it was going to do. It entertained people. Now, I know a lot of us weren't entertained but the majority of the people there, probably at home and what not loved it a lot more than Punk's given the reaction. Overall I'd say it did it's job. Rock can do better on the mic, it's Rock of all people, but the thing is that his promo wasn't designed for that. It makes sense though given what it was and everything.
Overall I had to say Punk/Rock is miles better than Cena/Rock.

Fans dont want to see Rock try and re invent himself now. Its better for Rock to do the shtick he got popular over. You wouldnt want Austin coming out and not doing his old routine. Same for all the other older guys. You dont have to like it but just how it is. I can understand people not liking the jokes and stuff but he was way more serious and intense with Punk. Punk did great in his rebuttal too. They kept it kayfabe with each other, there wasnt any real name calling BS. Hot crowd. Greatness.

First, we have Punk promising to drop another pipebomb. Than, he comes out and rambles for 15 minutes about nonsense. Seriously, it seemed like he talked about 5 things during the promo, he didn't seem to have a solid idea of what he wanted to promo to be about.
Than The Rock comes out and he's using his usual nonsensical jokes like Cookie Puss. I mean, seriously, he completely lost me when he told Punk to strip naked. I mean, really?
Seriously, we need Punk to have the same fire he seemed to have in 2011 during the Summer of Punk.

I instantly started enjoying the product more when it was just myself with friends/my thoughts. I check in on this thread when BIG things happen just to see the reaction, but man, I just have fun and watch what I loved growing up. Fantasy booker only leaves a sour taste in ones mouth, I'm convinced of it. Hell, even tonight's diva match was great. Rock/Punk were both on fire.

That promo just illustrated why Punk has been going out of his way as a heel. Because after his short promo at the end, the crowd just moved a bit in his corner. I kind of wish this was face versus face, because he might have been able to pull off a 50/50 split, but at the same time, Vince is probably going out of his way to keep the Rock on his good side. Nonetheless, that was miles beyond Cena/Punk, these two have great chemistry.

My problem is it was never the basis of his promo being until his last two years in WWE and last year. Yeah it was always there but he never seemed to fight to find a way to cram it in, like he has the last 3 or 4 years he's been doing promos. That last 3 minutes or so Punk was what he did for years and drew me in, the stuff before that was stuff that made me turn away.

He probably got confused when he heard he was going to be part of the focal point of the last segment and not the AJ saga.
