Finally got a chance to see it thought it was pretty good. What's everyone's opinion of the movie?

Really good. I think I put it at #3 on my "Top 5 Fav Movies of 2012". A great study of horror movies in general that switches tone without it feeling jarring.

Perhaps one of my favorite movies ever.
Really enjoyed its genre awareness, and consider it a modern day version of Scream.

I loved it... have seen it about a half a dozen times. Bought the Blu Ray for 8 bucks over Thanksgiving break, and very glad I did.
I can understand how many wouldn't like it, but one thing I have trouble understanding is how there are people calling this a rip off of other horror movies, specifically the Evil Dead comparisons... Essentially, I'm baffled that the point of the movie isn't obvious enough for people to get it, it's amazing to me that it goes over some people's heads. It's not a difficult movie, at all.
And yes, it actually ended up as my #5 favorite movie of the year when I put my top 15 together a week or so ago.

Thought it was great, really enjoyed it. At first it's cliche as hell, but just as you're thinking "Yawn, i've seen this about a million times before..." it changes up and the shit hits the fan; nice swerve and original spin on the horror genre. Reminded me a bit of From Dusk Till Dawn with the radical changeup. Maybe it's silly to apply real-world logic to a movie like this, but... {Spoiler}How were they able to keep some of those creatures encased? What kind of glass was that? Some of them had supernatural powers, so surely they could have escaped if they'd wanted to?

it's the only "meta"/tongue-in-cheek horror movie I've ever seen that actually got it right. it works as a movie even without the subtext. plus it was legitimately funny and the gore was great.

Eh, was a little too meta for my taste, some great moments, but overall just a mean spirited horror assassination with terrible plot choices.
Frog scene was brilliant.

Damn good film. I thought it was gonna be the standard hammy, generic horror movie, really enjoyed the twist. Wish we saw more of the Angry Molesting Tree!

Loved it, one of my favorite movies ever because while it does use meta concepts and at least leans against the 4th wall, it's not overly in your face about it and remains a great movie even if you take it straightforward.
I also liked the fact that, unlike many movies that claim to analyze horror movies, this one actually knows what it's talking about, and isn't judgmental unlike pretentious and preachy BS like Funny Games that just insult the audience for disagreeing with the director without at any point attempting to spark any kind of reasoning. It actually feels like the makers of this film care about what the audience thinks and don't patronize it.
And its a much better homage than most "tributes" to a specific genre that just take the most superficial aspects of it and reference two or three specific works, and act like that's enough to show everything a genre has to offer. This one actually has substance and takes cues from a wide variety of works, even crossing different mediums (there are Left 4 Dead references!), and as a result is shows that horror isn't just one thing you can put a label on, and it becomes a clever and respectful movie. At some points, I even forgot I was watching a recent movie and had to remind myself that it wasn't something from the 70s - 90s.
Oh and the best part? LIKABLE CHARACTERS. Why are Hollywood executives and writers convinced that jackasses are interesting characters to follow? It felt so good to actually have characters I wanted to see survive and started cheering for when they were in a dire situation, because not only did I legitimately feel they could die at any moment, I did NOT want to see them die!
