"We totally saw that one King, it was so predictable, everyone knew it was comming."
"Sure thing Cole, unlike all the other ones."
Like seriously... does an RKO ever not come out of nowhere?

"Orton setting up for the RKO here...yep he hit it. He'll probably get the pinfall now I think."
"Yep he did."

I think the one he did to Heath Slater might be one of the few where setting up for the RKO actually worked.

I think the one he did to Heath Slater might be one of the few where setting up for the RKO actually worked. And that's only because it's Heath Slater. No wrestler that has to "tune up the band" for their finisher will ever actually complete it on anyone in the uppercard.

Yeah, anyone who has a sequence leading to a finisher attempt rarely works when facing off against anyone but the lowcard/jobber tier of people.

I don't know if this is what you were referencing and I just completely missed the point but it annoyed me somewhat last night that, for once, Orton actually set up the RKO properly and Cole said "RKO... out of nowhere". It was facepalm-tastic.

They used to be 'outta nowhere', but now they're pretty obvious when he hits them, especially when people jump at him from the top rope or springboard into it(the one on Christian at Summerslam last year was REALLY obvious). The last one I think was outta nowhere was when he hit ADR with it at HIAC when Bertie went for his enzuigiri.

My favorite RKO OUT OF NOWHERE spot is still when he actually missed an RKO during a cage match because Christian dodged it and then tried to continue climbing the cage. Now THAT was out of nowhere.
