After the match, Punk mentioned kinda hastily "I've got nothing to do with Brad Maddox or the Shield."
.....unless I missed something (lotta flipping channels last night for me) did Maddox ever show up, or actually be shown tampering with the lights? I know he's a regular part of the popular question and denial, but it seemed kinda out of the blue last night. Punk even said his name first.
Hmmmmm........

Maddox showed up early on and tried to offer Paul Heyman his services before Heyman told him to screw off.

I really hope so. It'd make sense, and I love me some Maddox.

I don't really know what the light thing's referring to, but it'd be kind of genius if it turned out Rock's behind Maddox and the Shield because he sees Punk as easier to beat than Cena or Ryback. In the case of Cena it wouldn't really make any sense, but all the same, I'd applaud it.

I've been wanting The Shields run ins to resemble the Blood Baths of the Brood with the lights going out and a kind of Air Raid Siren going off whilst red or blue lights flicker before the lights come up mid beatdown. So, when the lights went out I was delighted, hope they do it again.

I'm hoping that's where they're going with it and then heading towards Rock vs Ryback at Mania.

I have three ideas for the man behind the lights, which they'll probably not follow up on at all but what the hell...
1) Maddox, the obvious answer. Heyman didn't want his help so he went to the Shield and coerced with them.
2) The Rock, the great idea. Rock playing very clever tactics to ensure he gets the 'easier' of the two come Royal Rumble. Very old-school Rock if you ask me. Bit of a heelish tactic.
3) Corey Graves, my wildcard pick. Ever since Rollins said that Graves is a "wrong they can right" on NXT, I've been convinced he's joining at some point. He'd fit into the group, he's from NXT and is one of the best guys down there. They've brought Rollins up, they've brought Big E up, and the only other person linked with the NXT title lately has been Corey. He could be 'the Sword'.

I don't really know what the light thing's referring to... It refers to the fact that at the climax of the match, the lights in the whole arena somehow went off and a certain group of guys took advantage of what was seemingly a planned move to defeat Ryback/save Punk. Seriously - someday they really do need to acknowledge that often-used tactic in a storyline. Even if it's just "disgruntled facilities manager"...ACKNOWLEDGE IT, WWE!!

I kinda took it as Reigns did it since Rollins and Ambrose were the two on the ladder... and Reigns showed up like a minute later.

I don't think there was supposed to be anyone responsible for it - it's the same "person" that turns off the lights for the Undertaker and knows to hit the music for run-ins.
I'd love to see Rock do one more heel-run, though. He's such a natural at it.

I've been saying this for weeks now. Maddox will keep getting defeated and ultimately end up in The Shield.

Nope, Sabu was backstage and was picking his nose. It's all an accident that just played into Shield's plan.
