The guy looks like Chris Hero's twin, I'm pretty sure they will keep the mask on him.

As I say everytime someone like this gets signed: I'm happy for them because I'm sure it's a fulfilment of a lifelong dream and the payday will be great I'm sure. On the other hand I am skeptical that they will be used correctly and will be sad about not getting to see them do great things on the indies anymore. That is, if this news is true. This is almost exactly how I always feel.

Didn't Kevin Steen (literally) call bulls*** on this? I think he called bs on Generico signing to TNA

He'll be stripped of everything that made WWE want to sign him in the first instance.

He'll be stripped of everything that made WWE want to sign him in the first instance. Or WWE will use everything that made him want to sign him into a decent draw. Using the luchador thing and the "OLE!" could give him decent pops to the kids, as well as the pops to the other fans for the wrestling skill. Ziggler has some competition though. For those who don't know, if you think Ziggles bumps like a champ, Generico bumps like a World champ. Ziggler is very sloppy compared to him in that regard.

The guy looks like Chris Hero's twin, I'm pretty sure they will keep the mask on him. Yeah, supposedly WWE has been wanting another masked guy to sell merch to kiddies. With Rey on the last legs of his career (no pun intended) and Sin Cara being injury prone and not adapting to WWE's style as well as they hoped for.

I've said it before, but the El Generico character is essentially a WWE character. White guy goofing on luchadors while being funny and a good wrestler. Custom made midcard magic

I am all for it as long as they let him be El Generico and not something else.

Gonna get all cryptic on y'all but screw it... Before I celebrated like a madman to this news, I wanted to wait until a certain someone I know perhaps posted something on a certain social networking site. Vague enough for ya? Well, while the post I was waiting for ended up being kinda cryptic in it's own right, I think I can now "put the champagne on ice", so to speak

What is with everyone saying that WWE will strip him of his identity though, Punk kept his because he asked for it maybe Generico will do the same Wasn't that because Paul Heyman debuted him in ECW under the Punk name WWE did want him under another name but Paul refused. Also I hope he still has a few good months till leaving. Chikara, PWG, ROH, DGUSA, etc, etc should have time to put together some good sendoff matches.

Now Santino's got a new tag team partner! ;D Maybe he'd be able to make Santino funny again. That wouldn't be such a bad thing.

I'm telling you, the best thing to come from this is a Banner/Hulk angle with Generico/Sheamus.
It's actually what I was hoping they'd do during the JBL/Hornswoggle angle. Horny'd get so angry and emerge from under the ring as the big white monster.

Generico's back working DDT4 this weekend, under the original plan of teaming with Steen. Guess this is the last hurrah, as I'm not aware of any other dates for him at the moment.

They may try to give him a different name, but I don't see them taking the mask off El Generico. I know a lot of fans still hold the Colt Cabana situation against the WWE, but I feel with them now being PG and actually re-working the developmental system will benefit Generico. Plus, Colt has admitted he wasn't happy in developmental nor was he that interested when he got called up. Plus, I honestly feel Generico has probably accomplished more than he ever thought he would in wrestling. But this probably means no more Brainbustaaaaaaah's
