El Generico is probably the best wrestler on the US indy scene and one of my favourites so if this is true I hope it works out well for him. I'd love to see him and PAC (Adrian Neville) get the chance to face each other again (maybe for Generico's debut) they had some fantastic matches in PWG.

You know, I'm usually not too bothered by indie guys getting a gimmick revamp when they sign for WWE, but in this instance I am praying they bring in El Generico as El Generico. The kids will absolutely adore him. ![](http://getlostphotography.smugmug.com/Other/2012-11-03-DGU-Uprising-2012/i-m5TJMx2/1/L/DPP_1043-L.jpg) I dunno though, I heard he eats children. Like buffet also, where are all the people who only a couple months ago where going "Oh, there is no way in hell WWE would ever be interested in signing El Generico"

WWE SIGNS TOP INDEPENDENT NAME AND MORE ON THE WAY by Mike Johnson @ 1:48 PM on 1/9/2013
WWE has signed El Generico to a deal, PWInsider.com confirmed this morning. As we noted several months back, the company has had interest in him and it's been Generico's goal since not signing with Ring of Honor to get into the company. One of the reasons WWE was so interested in Generico was that he speaks a number of different languages. The feeling was that would in handy as an asset for international markets.
Generico was removed from this weekend's Pro Wrestling Guerrilla event in California and it appears may already be done on the independent scene. He returned to Ring of Honor at Final Battle 2012 in what may prove to be his last-ever match with longtime partner/rival Kevin Steen.
Generico's signing is said to be part of a bigger WWE plan as the company has a number of names on their radar that they want to lock in for deals. I am told it's a Triple H move and that there will be a lot more signings to come, as long as those the company are interested in can pass the necessary medical exams.

Triple H only wants him so he can bury him in the middle of the ring! ![>:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/angry.png) All jokes aside, grats to Generico. I hope they do him justice.

There really aren't many, if any, Indy guys who deserve a shot at the big times more than Generico. No illusions of him ever being a world champ, but he can easily make WWE a lot of money in merchandise. Other names on the list huh? That has be curious. Names I think would be high on their list... Sami Callihan Adam Cole ...those are the only locks I can think of. I can see them going after the following though AR Fox... if certain... things don't get in the way Super Smash Brothers 3.0 Johnny Gargano that's all I got right now

Maybe with the rumor of Del Sol and now this they are serious about a cruiser weight show, they already have a decent number of cruiser weights in development and on the main roster

WWE really should pay Bouncing Souls for the rights to use Olé for Generico's theme song. Can you imagine how epic it would be to hear an arena full of fans singing along to his entrance?

There's just no way. I can see them signing -Sami Callihan -Adam Cole -The Briscoe Brothers -Johnny Gargano (I'd prefer Chuck Taylor but w/e) -The Young Bucks (if they learn how to handshake) -Samuray del Sol (ina few years) -Jay Lethal (I can dream) -Michael Elgin (eventually) -Brian Cage I'd love for SSB to get signed but idk if they would sign Uno, Dos might have a shot though. So this guys gimmick is that he's generic? He's a skinny french candian guy who pretends to be a luchador from Mexico

They'd need to take Uno to go with Dos. Dos has a thick accent oh and Brian Cage is hinting that he's signed with TNA

I'm torn. All of these guys are talented. I'm glad that WWE would recognize their ability, but worry that the indy scene will be hurt by WWE cherry picking all the big names.

This news has made my day, this couldn't happen to a more deserving star that has finally got his shot in the be leagues. I am happy for the guy and happy he gets the PWG sendoff. I hope Steen, Cole, Ricochet, Chucky T, Adam Cole, SSB and others are on their list as well to get

If this all ends up being true I'd love if this was enough motivation for Steen to get into shape, the possibility of their feud continuing in the WWE would be pretty awesome. Take it to as many feds as possible.

Yeah, I have the same worry. Someone on Twitter mentioned Vince having the 'great' idea of buying up all of the big indy talent, sticking them in Florida, and then no one can pay someone else to see them. I know that's the stereotypical, cynical "IWC" attitude to have, but it wouldn't surprise me if that was an intention.
