I just get this weird feeling Vince one day is going to be in a meeting and...
"WHO THE HELL SIGNED EL GENERICO?"

Maybe El Generico can team with Mark Henry in the WWE incarnation of Two Skinny Black Guys?
As far as El Generico's style and promo skills. His style is pretty much lucha with a number of other innovative offensive maneuvers. His dives are on par with just about any cruiserweight in the world today. He's got MANY different variations of the brainbuster including the ever dangerous BRAINBUSTAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! (yes, its called that, think wacky Japanese pro wrestling announcer calling it) which is his Superplex set up into a brainbuster where he twists his opponent in mid air, lands on his feet and drives his opponent's head into the top turnbuckle.
He's also got a nasty Michinoku Driver, a sliding tornado DDT (that's the best I can describe it, other people who've seen El Generico know what I'm talking about), various suplexes most commonly used in Japan that he probably won't use in WWE, including an Exploder Suplex into the corner.
As far as his promo skills go. He's never really done a lot of talking as the point of his gimmick is that he's a redheaded french canadian portraying a mexican luchador. Most of his promos have consided of rudimentary Spanish, sometimes with mariachi playing in the background (I think ROH did this a few times at least.) A lot of what makes El Generico so popular on the independent scene is his physical comedy and improv.
Here's some El Generico greatness from last year so you can see for yourself.

What's his wrestling style? Lucha? And how are his promo skills? Lucha...sorta? I'd say all encompassing high-flyer is a better way to describe his abilities. Also pretty solid brawler when the occasion calls for it. His promo skills are alright, it's more his general charisma that helps him. As he's made a career out of cutting promos that mainly rely on a few words being said and facial expressions. The latter of those two I realize is a little confusing to consider, seeing as he's masked, but he emotes pretty well. One of the reasons why I think he'll do okay for himself in WWE, if given the chance.

I feel like if he can tweak the Top Rope Brainbuster where the impact on the turnbuckle is a lot more horizontal (like a DDT), he could get away with using it in WWE.

I'd say he'd be around the 200 mark also if he was significantly bulkier imo that'd hurt the gimmick a bit it would greatly surprise me if he weighed 200lbs. i don't mind smaller guys but Generico's downright skinny. he looks akin to the jobbers that were being fed to Ryback each week. i don't think adding 20-30 pounds would hurt the gimmick too much.

I was saying that sarcastically, if you think Generico is 120lbs something is seriously wrong with you. sorry that you didn't pick up on my obviously facetious remark.

Strange as it sounds, Vince HATES people canceling dates and it's the lead belief as to what got Claudio "Antonio Cesaro" Castagnoli fired his first go around. He made Bryan and Finlay work their remaining indie dates after rehiring them as well. Claudio didn't get signed because of Visa issues Claudio has had permanent residence in the US since 2004 -- why would he have visa issues?

Jim Ross @jrsbbq Can't speak 4 #WWE but I wouldn't. I'd want ownership. "@alexkalil: @jrsbbq What are odds of wwe letting @elgenerico keep his character?

Slight hold up:
EL GENERICO-WWE SIGNING UPDATE by Mike Johnson @ 9:11 AM on 1/10/2013
While the initial word we received yesterday morning was that El Generico has signed with WWE, he actually has not signed. I apologize for the error and any confusion. We are told by several sources that he is undergoing his physical testing and upon passing, he will be signed. So, he has not signed yet, but will, barring any delays.
In the past, issues that came up during testing led to the delays in signing Daniel Bryan and Kassius Ohno and led to WWE yanking Nigel McGuinness' deal, so it's possible one could pop up.
Generico had pulled himself off Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's DDT 4 tournament in Los Angeles this weekend due to signing, but the promotion announced late today that he was back on despite "injury", which was his storyline exit. So, fans in California will get to see what may be Generico's potential final "home" indy date this weekend.
Generico is also booked for the debut of the Hart Family Legacy promotion in Calgary. We will have more on that event shortly.
As we noted earlier yesterday, WWE has a list of talents they are interested in signing. We have more details on that in the PWInsider.com Elite section.

People like him are why I want people like Colt in WWE. Not everyone has to be stellar on the mic. Not everyone has to be stellar in the ring. Its when you have guys that can cover each others weaknesses, thats where magic happens.
Also, WWE's future looks blindingly bright. All of their recent signings are quality hires. Recently Pac and now possibly Generico. Combine that with the WEALTH of interesting talent in NXT and it makes me super interested to see what the WWE landscape will be in 5 years when the old guard can officially retire.
It has been perfect, but WWE has been pretty hell bent on introducing new faces, as well as trying to create new stars (See: Ryback).

It will be interesting to see what will happen with El Generico this weekend, because yesterday he was announced in a Sunday night wrestling show in Montreal (it would be his last appearance in the province of Quebec so I would prefer for him to do that show.)
It's like everybody want to have him one last time, and I don't blame anybody on that.

I don't believe for one second Vince would have signed 90% of the talent listed, which leads me to believe that perhaps a wind of change has occurred for 'ideal' superstar potential.
