Someone took the footage of the Cactus Jack vs Terry Funk no ropes, barbed-wire/C4 explosion match in the finals of IWA Japan's 1995 "King of The Deathmatch" tournament and synced up Mick Foley reading the chapter from Have A Nice Day! about the tourney. I remember a film adaption of Have A Nice Day! was something on wrestling fans' collective wish list, and I think if this ever were to happen narration throughout the movie by Foley would be the way to go. www.youtube.com/watch?v=TFI3gG_POCk&NR=1&feature=endscreen

It's a cool idea but I wish the guy would have lowered the audio on the match video more because it overpowers the narration at times.

Thanks for cluing me in about this fan-made video edit.
I ordered the 1995 KOTDM tourney on VHS circa 2001, and already watched every match. But since the OP brought up the tournament, what do you guys think about this match?
In my opinion, as legendary as this match is, it doesn't hold up so well against CZW's Tournament of Death as far as deathmatch matches go. However, I will admit that this match is more about psychology than hardcore action, and in that respect, it is a classic. Still, I'd rather watch SeXXXy Eddy vs The Arsenal (TOD 3), "Sick" Nick Mondo vs JC Bailey (TOD 2) or Danny Havoc vs Drake Younger (TOD 11) for overall quality wrestling.

The psychology of this match is some of the most legit I've ever seen - two tough motherf***ers going one more round, just trying to make it to the end.
Not that great as a match, but such a great story.

Is this the one where the ring was supposed to blow up the Funker but most of the C4(or whatever it was) didn't go off and it looked like a terrible fireworks display.

Not that great as a match, but such a great story. Damn good psychology, especially for a death match. But as Foley noted in both the book and book on tape, the ending is kinda anti-. Funk pushes Cactus off a ladder into the barbed wire that is replacing the ring ropes then just collapses and Cactus Jack pins him. Although I guess it kinda seems like a pretty creative finish when you think about it. I mean, how many times in "real" sports do you see individuals or teams try last ditch efforts try and make a comeback just to have it collapse at the end and have them just fall a little bit short? That's what kind of happens here, Funk makes a last ditch effort by pushing Cactus off the ladder but he only had that left in the tank from the damage done to him both that match and the earlier rounds he competed in the tournament and it just wasn't enough to win.
