Mick Foley✔ @realmickfoley As far as the HOF: I'll believe it when I see it on wwe TV...or when I get a phone-call from Vince. Better check my VM for message from VKM And I'm sure this was posted to assure the WWE that he was in fact not the soruce that told the NY Post... Still, if it's true then it is absolutely well deserved. And what greatness to be inducted at a ceremony in MSG, the building that was such a huge part of his wrestling origins...

I was kind of hoping he would get three separate inductions as Cactus Jack, Dude Love and Mankind.

No offense to Foley but I hope the have another somewhat big name on deck. Don't get me wrong, he deserves it but one of my favorite things about the HOF is hearing these guys that rarely speak on their careers or what wrestling and the fans mean to them, do just that. Mick's been doing that for a decade+ now and while his speech will be good, I don't know what more he can say that will won't have been said many times before.

Well the Undertaker, the Rock and Triple H won't be going in this year with Foley being announced first to help sell tickets tomorrow. I suppose guys like Jake "the Snake" Roberts, Bob Backlund, and The Ultimate Warrior could still be on the table as co-headliners. Savage seems to be out but you never know. I am hoping for Bruno Sammartino. There have been some vague yet I suppose encouraging reports over the past few weeks but that easily be newz.

I wouldn't be shocked at all if Vader is included this year due to his feud with Foley in WCW, and the fact that his son is now under WWE contract and working NXT.
I keep having to wonder though who would fit to be inducted as they're in the old territory so to speak. Backlund and Sammartino are the obvious choices if they'd be willing to accept and who the hell knows with them these days.
I'd imagine one tag team and one manager goes in, but I'm stumped on those as well.
The only other idea that I have at least regionally is if an ECW alum gets inducted. It probably won't ever be Douglas, a lot of the guys I'd consider are in TNA. Maybe Dreamer or Sabu?

Managers on the other hand, are a lot more tricky, since most of the more famous ones are already in there. Paul Bearer would be fine, but it would be ludicrous to induct him before you induct The Undertaker. Dreamer would do fine, especially given that he's essentially a local too being from nearby Yonkers.

I thought of him too, but I don't remember him doing anything overly notable.

Nice one and well deserved.
Someone mentioned the Macho Man, isn't his family stopping that ? Something about his father being inducted at the same time ?

Nice one and well deserved. Someone mentioned the Macho Man, isn't his family stopping that ? Something about his father being inducted at the same time ? His brother Lanny "The Genius" Poffo is on the record as saying that it was Randy's wishes for the three of them (father Angelo, Randy and Lanny) to be inducted together. Of course, with Randy sadly no longer around to confirm or deny this, it seems that this would be the only way of getting Macho Man in. I mean, theoretically, I don't think there's anything legally stopping them from inducting anyone they want, be it Macho Man, Sammartino, Owen, Warrior, whoever. They're just trying to do the right thing by the families so it doesn't become a publicity black eye.

Bobby Heenan said they were a tight-knit family - where one went, the others usually went with (he said if he were to start a promotion, they would be the first guys he'd hire because they're reliable, on time and always thinking about the business) - so it wouldn't surprise me in the least if Randy actually stipulated that they are only to be inducted as such. Besides, how tough is it to "throw in" Angelo Poffo in a HOF induction ceremony? Lanny gets to do a speech, throw some Frisbees to the crowd - admit it, that'd be awesome.

If they go with a Semi-ECW theme, do you think Heyman will go in as a "contributor". We always talk about Mcmahon/Bischoff but a lot of that was driven by ECW at first.

I like the Heyman idea.
As for who should induct Foley I say Rock or someone who can tell some good stories, I just feel Funk wouldn't do as good as Rock.

Besides, how tough is it to "throw in" Angelo Poffo in a HOF induction ceremony? Lanny gets to do a speech, throw some Frisbees to the crowd - admit it, that'd be awesome. I was always a Lonny Poffo fan. He was my favorite jobber and I always got a thrill when I'd see him live. I was all kinds of excited when he got the genius gimmick. It was kind of a shame that they blew it. Maybe some of my enjoyment of Damien Sandow is they finally got the gimmick right. I also have a more pragmatic view of the HoF. I realize that wrestling as a medium is built on all levels, Jobber, Curtain Jerker, Mid Card, Main Event and everybody makes a contribution. Therefore everybody should be recognized, even Koko B. Ware. (an analogy from another sport would be some writer's refusal to recognize Edgar Martinez because he "only played half the game") So I'd have no problem inducting Leapin Lonny "the Genius" Poffo as part of the Poffo Family. It's just a shame he turned out to be a bit of a jerk.
