I've played most of the Call of Duty franchise except MW2 & BO2. I own MW1 & rented MW3. I'm considering picking up MW2 in a few minutes. I love the first one & while the third is good too, it seemed kind of short if I remember correctly.
With that being said, how does the campaign in 3 compare to the other two Modern Warfare games?

I think 2 is the strongest of the MW singleplayer campaigns, MW2>MW>MW3.

The first one has the "Holy Shit!" moment of the nuke scene, which gives it a lot of brownie points.
MW2 has more variety and a better story, particularly the Red Dawn-style missions, but has one of the most aggravating escort missions I've played in a long time in the siege on the safe house level.
MW3 was great from start to finish? But the finish came too quickly.

Even playing the game multiple times it's still a shocker. I agree about 3 though. I was having a blast playing it, and then all the sudden it was over. TBH, I was glad I only rented it since I don't really play online multi player at all.

MW2 really surprised me with how emotionally involved I got with Ghost. But yeah, MW1 was great with the nuke scene and how the level sets up for it. MW3 was a LOT of fun, but Yuri is kind of a bland character. It's kind of amazing though, how good all three campaigns were in game where the single player aspect is always going to be overshadowed by the multiplayer (which I still have not, and will not play).
