Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Silver Surfer is one of my favorite comic book characters along with Dr. Doom and they just messed that up bad. You didn't expect it after how badly they butchered everyone sans Flame and The Thing in the first one? I actually anticipated the obvious choices being bad, given the turmoil that was out while they were filming...Spidey 3 had Raimi forced to do a villain he had no familiarity or interest in doing with Venom, and X-Men Last Stand was Brett Ratner taking over. So I'll go with (for a recent example)... ![](http://ia.media-imdb.com/images/M/MV5BMTQ2NjQ5MzMwMF5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwMjczNTAzOA@@._V1._SY317_CR0,0,214,317_.jpg)

The Village Matrix Reloaded (the best part of that was someone in the audience yelling out "What the f*** is this?" during the rave scene) Matrix Revolutions

The Thin Red Line. I remember going to see Saving Private Ryan and thinking that was a great movie. I thought that this was going to be a decent war flick. I have no memory of it whatsoever. I mostly remember getting up to go to the bathroom many times.

I just saw this the other night, but f***ing Gangster Squad is the most cliche-ridden movie ever.

Priest
It felt really short. Wikipedia says it was 87 minutes but I don't believe it.

It was most annoying because of the fact that they tried to make it seem like the surfboard is what gives him his powers when in fact, it was from the Power Cosmic of Galactus.

The Cirque du Freak film. Loved the books and I was so giddy when the trailer first came out. It's not really a BAD movie, just not as good as I hoped it would be. To be fair, the movie was based on not one, but three books, so it's not like they could fit all the important stuff in anyway.

The International Just a bland movie that did not deliver in the end.
Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon Just a boring flick that took the plot of the Terminator

Godzilla...............Godzilla was my favorite monster and I couldnt wait to see him wreck stuff in the USA, then I watched the movie and left saying that wasn't freaking Godzilla. I had to see it twice to make sure I wasnt missing anything. No lie, my favorite thing about that movie was the fish icon on the radar screen or whatever it was that showed where they left the fish bait to lure the monsters out. I can't even remember if it was to lure Godzilla out or the little Godzillas and I don't care.

Terminator 3. I wasn't expecting it to out do T2(unintentional rhyming), but that movie was so bland.

Matrix Reloaded. My 12 year old brain couldn't comprehend on how this movie could be bad. I loved the first movie so much that I've seen hundreds of times I just couldn't accept the fact that this movie sucked. I still can't. I haven't ever seen it since. I've seen The Matrix hundreds of times since but I haven't seen the 2nd or 3rd one more than once. Now, that you mention it Matrix Reloaded is a top contender for me as well. I was doubly disappointed because the only reason it was R rated was because of that random orgy sequence that had NOTHING to do with the plot and could have been cut entirely.

Alice In Wonderland. A 2 hour public service announcement about why you shouldn't let Tim Burton do adaptations. Abysmal in every way. Burton was such a useless hack that he thought "Frabjous Day" would work as a foretold set event, rather than just another wonderful bit of silliness by the master of nonsense verse.

I'm shocked no one has said Star Wars Episode 1 yet... Ya, I'm surprised too. It had some good parts but overall, definitely a disappointment.

This. I loved X-Men 2 so much and had been looking forward to the third one for years. Terrible.

I was pondering what my answer would be, then Groose said The Grinch. I've seen Batman & Robin, Battlefield Earth, Episode I, Jurassic Park 3, Dreamcatcher, Super Mario Brothers, both Matrix sequels, Prometheus - many, many duds in theaters over the years - none of them compares to my experience with watching The Grinch in theaters. Just terrible. Without a doubt in my mind, the worst movie I've ever seen in theaters.

How The Grinch Stole Christmas. At the time I was young and I did not know how someone should react after going to a bad movie... This. I was looking forward to it, since I love the Grinch. Now, during the holidays, I avoid the Jim Carrey version. I love the original.
