Why is he taping his fists (and wrapping his elbows, knees, etc) without anyone questioning it?
Seems way out of sorts for his gimmick to not be what he claims.

Why is he taping his fists (and wrapping his elbows, knees, etc) without anyone questioning it? Seems way out of sorts for his gimmick to not be what he claims. He's no longer a bare knuckle fighter, he's a wrestler. He has no need to fight bare knuckle in the ring. To clarify, he mentioned in his NXT promos he was a former bare knuckle boxer. Now that he's WWE, he's move valuable in one piece, so it's in his best interest to protect his body.

Bareknuckle fighters basically go without gloves, but they still tape their hands. This is because if you're gonna be smacking people in the face with bare hands, your hands will end up cut up and bruised, but with tape on, it lessens the damage quite a bit in comparison to just going bare handed.
So yeah, it's actually kinda accurate.

So yeah, it's actually kinda accurate. Done right taping up also supports the wrist, so on impact your wrist is less likely to suffer a severe break.
