A friend of the family is a huuuuuuuge Bruno mark. When he told me the news, I just HAD to troll him.
Me:"Koko B. Ware made it in before him." Him:".......f*** you, Shawn."

Awesome news, congrats to Bruno. Looks like Macho Man and Owen Hart's are the only big "never gonna be in" candidates now. I could see Hunter negotiating with Lanny to let himself and his father in solo or together, while Macho Man goes in solo in the same class. Owen though? That's a...whole different ball game. Also, Dynamite Kid. He recently said in an interview that he'd never accept an induction.

Paul Levesque deserves all of the credit in the world for making this happen. This more than makes up for his role in Montreal in my book.
Bruno and Backlund in together! Wow!!!

Could this be the most deserving group as a whole to go in?

Could this be the most deserving group as a whole to go in? If the celebrity induction is Cindi Lauper or Mr. T... Yes.

Could this be the most deserving group as a whole to go in? Easily, without a doubt in my mind, no matter who else goes in. Also, even though I wasn't even alive for his title reigns I am extremely happy to see Bruno Sammartino getting inducted. To me it was like if Babe Ruth wasn't in Cooperstown. This will legitimize the WWE HOF and not to mention, Bruno will finally get the recognition and respect he deserves for his accomplishments.

There's still at least few more inductees left to go and I'm sure they won't be on the level of Sammartino, Backlund or Foley. Of course that doesn't mean they shouldn't go in either. We've heard precious little about the celebrity inductee this year. Also we're still not exactly certain who the posthumous induction(s?) might be. There's still eight RAW's until WrestleMania. They likely won't announce a new inductee for every week until then, but it certainly gives them enough space to announce plenty more. For a celebrity, I am hoping for Cyndi Lauper, Mr T, Muhammad Ali, or maybe Andy Kaufman. Though I could see them going for Lawrence Taylor. Just please hold off on Trump. He's too controversial and could spoil this historic class. Or should I say more controversial than some of the celebrities I suggested. For a posthumous induction, if they go with Lawrence Taylor then maybe Bam Bam Bigelow? However with Bruno going in and the history of the WWE dvd coming out later this year, I really hope Toots Mondt gets the nod. I'd settle for the Freebirds, Lord Alfred Hayes, Willie Gilzenberg, Stan Stasiak, Haystacks Calhoun, Andy Kaufman, Rick Rude, or maybe Martha Hart miraculously changing her mind and allowing Owen Hart to be inducted. Big names like Macho Man and Lou Thesz can wait for another year now. Of course they're going to need a minority too. An all white class is not good for the cameras. That could be the celebrity inductee easily. Or as reports indicated a few weeks ago, {Spoiler} Kamala But maybe it'll be someone like Carlos Colon. Or maybe someone from Japan like Tatsumi Fujinami, Tiger Mask, or even Shohei Baba. I just marked a bit typing Shohei Baba going in with Sammartino, Foley, Backlund, and Stratus. I'd also hope for a tag team. The Freebirds would be nice, but I want Demolition. I'd settle for Bret getting a second ring and being inducted with Jim Neidhart as the Hart Foundation though. Just to get the Anvil in. I just hope they don't prematurely induct a more recent team... From then on, I'd just be hoping for anyone from Ivan Koloff to Ken Patera to Stan Hansen.

I just read the spoilers. Wow. Bruno. F'n Bruno. I consider this more amazing than the night Bret Hart reappeared. To understand the history of the last 30 years of wrestling, this is probably the biggest reconciliation ever. There's nobody here that doesn't win.
Really happy that Bruno could make this happen, really impressed that WWE could make this happen, really excited about seeing him give a speech. Not really keen on watching WM (as I've not been watching except 2-3 x year), but now the HOF is 100% booked as must see tv. Just wow.

I'm stunned. I really thought I'd never see this day. In fact when they said ESPN broke it I really thought it was going to be Savage.

Bruno's induction is deserved, unquestionably.
But it isn't a legit HoF and how many people 'care' (e.g enough to buy tickets, cheer, watch on TV etc) is arguably the most important factor. At least, in the setting of the WWE HoF it is.
So I wonder precisely, given that context, just how big a deal this will be. I'd be surprised if even 1% of people who currently identify as fans or have for a number of years - even in the NYC area - who have any memory of Bruno.
I can see him getting a nice, respectful response but I do feel kinda bad that the likelihood being that because people only know of him from the history books that within the raucous atmosphere of a live WWE event that Samatino's reception could be mistaken for indifference.

Perhaps now Trips can move on and convince Mr. T. to accept a spot in WWE's Hall of Fame.

His video got a pop from a dead crowd in Atlanta. A vocal. "smarky" NYC crowd in the Garden and Giants Stadium will go nuts for Bruno.

If there's one thing WWE has consistently shown they're capable of doing, it's hype videos.
Those that don't know about Bruno already, certainly will be the time the HoF rolls around.

Huge news. Bruno is still an icon in New York and Pittsburgh (who is building a statue for him in the city this year).
Still amazed with how great of shape Bruno is in.

For him to convince Bruno of all people to do it, given all the bad blood, he really really deserves major kudos. For all the hate of hhh gets (which I think is mostly BS), like it or not, I truly believe he has a lot of respect and love for the business. I don't care what his connections are to the family or whatever, I truly believe he is very passionate about the business. For him to reach out and convince bruno given all the bad blood over the years with wwe//vince is really impressive to me.

Now we just need the Andy Kaufman induction and it'll be a perfect class this year for me.

One of those three names would be a worthy induction. Tatsumi was a great Japanese wrestler and was recognized by New Japan as the NWA Champion in a great feud with Ric Flair. Tiger Mask went from a manga character to a cultural icon and was the influence on so many wrestlers in both appearance and moveset. And, of course, Shohei Baba... I really admire the guy and what he did for puroresu (and helping create All Japan). But... I was really shocked to be looking through WWE's YouTube page this morning and see Sammartino being inducted in the Hall of Fame. Even if most fans today rarely heard of the guy, this was a wrestling legend and obviously the longest-reigning WWE Champion of all-time. This is actually a very meaty induction class so far this year and worth looking at, even if the whole point of the HoF is purely for entertainment.
