Bah. Just put Kaufman in for a celeb already.
Sure, he can't be there live for it, but he did more wrestling than either of them, plus there won't be any bad new bad press around him.

Tony Clifton's still alive to accept it for him.... Then he could make a few jokes at Lawler's expense about the heart attack (again), and then they get into a fight on the WWE Hall of Fame stage in the middle of MSG. (And backstage, Bruno storms out. )

Bah. Just put Kaufman in for a celeb already. Sure, he can't be there live for it, but he did more wrestling than either of them, plus there won't be any bad new bad press around him. That's debatable. He did more for Memphis and Lawler, but Trump and Lauper did more for WWE. Plus, they're alive. WWE can characterize Trump as the host of WrestleMania IV and WrestleMania V. They can talk about the BATTLE OF THE BILLIONARES! which led to a very successful WrestleMania (23), and the angle on Raw where Trump buys WWE and later sells it back to WWE. Cyndi Lauper was a major star who helped bring mainstream attention to WWF during the early national expansion. She was a huge part of the MTV crossover with the War to Settle to Score which laid the foundation for WrestleMania, which she also was a big part of. She put wrestlers in her music videos, namely Captain Lou in the MTV smash-hit 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.' She helped get Wendi Richter over as arguably the most popular babyface other than Hogan. To me, it's a no-brainer that WWE should induct Trump and Lauper who actually helped WWE before they induct Kaufman. No disrespect to Kaufman. I've read Bob Zmuda's book on him and I am VERY familiar with his work in Memphis. Believe me, I am familar with his 'Inter-Gender Champion shtick he did in his act and on SNL and in Memphis. And of course I know about the slap on Letterman. Please don't lecture me about how I don't understand Kaufman's impact.

Please not {Spoiler}Trump. Not in this class of all classes. Even Snooki getting into a bitch-fight with the Gobbledy Gooker on the stage would be more classy than listening to the garbage that gentleman would spout in his induction speech.

I agree that, like him or not, Trump should go into the celebrity wing, but this is a better class for Cyndi Lauper.

The thing with Kaufman all the footage of him is not owned by WWE. Memphis, Late Night With David Letterman, Saturday Night Live, etc. they are not part of the WWE library. Though I think Vince still might have friends at NBC, so the Late Night and SNL they might be able to get.

People I'd like to see in the WWE HoF, in no particular order:
Jake Roberts inducted by DDP Rick Rude, Davey Boy Smith, Honky Tonk Man, Sid, Vader, Demolition, Bam Bam Bigelow, King Kong Bundy, Haku, Owen Hart, Jim Neidhart (or the Hart Foundation as a tag team), the New Age Outlaws, Haku, Big Boss Man and Earthquake

I said it before, I'll say it again, Lord Alfred Hayes needs an induction. I won't rest until it happens.
Actually I'll probably rest several times before it happens, but whenever the opportunity arises I'll throw out his name again.

Celebrity induction news {Spoiler}
The Wrestling Observer is reporting two things.
First that Cyndi Lauper is being considered for induction this year. But...
Second that Donald Trump was at one point scheduled to be announced as the celebrity induction last Monday, but it obviously didn't happen. Whether that is because the deal fell apart or they decided to push it back a week is unknown.
My thoughts: Trump's induction would take this class into the gutter. Not because he's a celebrity, but because he's a controversial mess. Lauper deserves it more for what she did for the WWF and is least likely to cause bad press outside of the "HoF is a joke because they induct celebrities" crowd.
Though I wonder if the tea party backlash on Swagger/Colter this past week has anything to do with why Trumps induction video was pulled.
Both deserve it. So I'd have no problem with them going in. Mr T and Ali are 2 other celebs I'd like to see go in. I'm hoping they induct Liger, Muta, and Chono, soon. Liger and Muta had a bigger impact in the US than Chono did, but Chono deserves to be in as well.

Mr T and Ali are 2 other celebs I'd like to see go in. I don't think Mr. T would accept it.........but ooh, Ali would be an excellent induction. Especially for MSG. Not sure if he's in good enough health, but it'd make an amazing HOF class already even moreso.

I'll second an induction for Tiger Mask Sayama. His style has influenced countless guys, and he wrestled in the Garden several times, so it would be an appropriate year for him to be inducted.

I'd like to see ICP get into the celebrity wing as they've been in pretty much every wrestling organization over the years, as opposed to a celeb that only makes a couple of total appearances ever in the ring getting in

You'd think that they wouldn't be stacking this Hall of Fame even MORE
Seriously, they're gonna run out of people after this year it seems
