Gotta be honest, I'm not too thrilled about either Rock or Cena for the main at WrestleMania. Matter of fact, if it were up to me, the only way they'd be in the main was if it was a Triple Threat, Punk was entering as champion and Punk was going over. Cena doesn't need the belt, Rock CERTAINLY doesn't need the belt, and neither of them being champion helps anyone.
And before anyone starts with the whole "buyrates" thing, whatever happened to "don't worry about the ticket sales, think of this like a fan?" Well as a fan, I'll be severely disappointed if this past year was all to give Rock a title win he doesn't need all to lead up to a rematch I don't care for with an ending Stevie Wonder can see from a mile away.

So much for "once in a lifetime" They get around that by Rock winning the title and Cena winning the rumble setting up a forced match up.

Raw has sold out the last two weeks with Rock on it and last years WM did good business its would be stupid for WWE to break from the original plans and not have Rock vs Cena 2 and then sick Punk in a big match with someone like Taker.
Punk fans getting upset with the idea of losing to the Rock crack me up since first he's had a massive title run and half that run is due to setting up him losing to the Rock in the first place. Cena hasn't had the title for over 500 days by WM so its fine if he gets a run with the title after booking him into a off year in 2012.

It's not even so much the match that is unattractive, it's the finish. If they were to do anything other than "epic match, Cena clean, handshake, Rock tries to send the crowd home happy after the PPV ends" I'd be stunned.
If they did it, and were creative about it (ripping off WM17, for example) that would be different.

Ten dollars says Punk wins the title match, someone other than Cena wins the Rumble and someone will still complain that WWE is predictable. This. I'm sorry but I always laugh when people take leaked info as fact every time, especially when the news giver even admits that it might change.

I HOPE that's not what I bought tickets to see at 'Mania.
Anyway, I think having Rock win actually wouldn't be as good for business as having a finish where Punk wins in a way that sets up future storylines and a longer chase for the Rock (meaning a tease/promise of him being around more, which would drive up ratings and buyrates) that goes to 'Mania. With the Rumble build so far, I wouldn't mind Punk/Rock expanding, getting the Shield/Ryback stuff involved and maybe actually explaining it (although WWE's had a habit of never actually revealing the "bigger picture" in mystery angles the last 4 years or so) get Brock involved; something to further everything rather than just Rock beats Punk -> Cena beats Rock. Why not have the Rock in an ANGLE rather than just a feud?

It's Wrestlemania and it's the Rock & John Cena, the two biggest draws they've got right now.
It's not about anybody needing this or that, it's about the two guys who guarantee the most buys. They had a solid match last year and will probably have a good one this year as well. And I'm sure CM Punk will find something to do, like put over Ryback or something and then everyone will be happy.

God, I can already hear the promo in my head.
"...they said it was once in a lifetime. But what if The Rock went one-on-one with John Cena...twice *makes peace sign*...in a lifetime."

I'm sure Rock is winning at Rumble, though there's this thing inside of me thinking Punk wouldn't agree to it and would have dropped the title before it happened.
I know Rock will get his hands on the title, I just really, really, really, really wish it wouldn't happen. Shock me, WWE and have it not happen.

Why would he turn down the biggest payday of his career? I dunno, maybe he got alot for the Summerslam with Jeff Hardy when they went on last, but I doubt it'd be anything compared to this.

Because I believe his animosity to Rock is real and he cares more about wrestling than money. Don't destroy my illusions.

It's not so much that Punk is losing the title, it more that, for me at least, he could be losing it to someone who could really use the rub and elevate them. Not losing it to The Rock where it's only going to go to Cena at WM. 3 months wasted IMO. WWE could really have used the next 3 months to get a good story going, ultimately leading to Punk losing the title at WM and giving a deserving Superstar a well deserved push with the title having beaten a 400+ day champion!

The worst part for me is that the big Mania matches of the last few years have been rematches when it comes to The Undertaker's match. Now we'd be getting another Mania where a match is just another rematch from the previous year.

If they are going to do Punk/Taker, have Punk put his "career" on the line to add a little bit of doubt as to the outcome (at least for the marks). His 2-year deal is up a few months after WM anyway. Let him take a few months off and then come back around SS time if he feels like signing a new deal.

I know Rock will get his hands on the title, I just really, really, really, really wish it wouldn't happen. Shock me, WWE and have it not happen. I feel the same way. Much like Ric Flair, I loved The Rock in his prime. However, that time came and that time went. Rock ending the title reign (to me) is extremely stupid. He needs it like a hole in his head and it does nothing but guarantee that John Cena will get the title/win back at WrestleMania. It's not the fact that, "OH NO! Precious Punk is losing his title!" that irks me. I just think it's an anti-climatic end to Punk's long reign. That and it would be nice to see an "up and comer" win the title from Punk at Mania rather than having the almighty 'status quo' kept in order. Having said all of that, of course, everything could change and WWE could swerve us. However, seeing as how they don't know the definition of "unpredictable", I would imagine this will turn out exactly as we all expect.
