I'm game. Snyder, IMO, is GREAT at adapting other works. Not so much when it comes to original works, but when he makes a film based on something that already exists? Awesome, awesome results.

I could see Disney maybe waiting until after the debut of the next episode of star wars before releasing this film. So that it isn't the first non-Lucas backed SW movie.
Either way, since it's not part of the regular narrative I could totally get into a SW movie that's nothing but action. One giant light saber fest.

I always wanted to see Star Wars in slow motion, and as a really bad, unwatchable waste of time

Plus it is Seven Samurai, one of the greatest and most influential tales to come from Japan. And considering how Japanese samurai films have had a key role in shaping Star Wars from day one, it fits perfectly!

This why I was excited for Disney buying Star Wars. They can create a Star Wars cinematic universe that allows various interpretations of the franchise to exist.

Not really a Star Wars fan, but Snyder with Star Wars sounds like it'd be even more likely to be completely screwed-up than Man of Steel's looking. I liked the guy's work on 300 and, if you ignore the action scenes, Watchmen, but he isn't at all right for either one of those.

Man of Steel looks amazingly accurate to the 2003-2004 arc "Birthright", which was a very well received retelling of Superman's origin by Mark Waid. As a fan of post-Crisis Superman, I think it looks like Snyder is nailing it.

I love Snyder and feel like he's been one of the best new directors in the past decade as far as Hollywood studio directors go. I even liked Sucker Punch, the one and only guy who did too I admit. And, I feel like he could bring a unique and interesting vision to the Star Wars franchise.

Isn't there already a rather famous (or infamous) Star Wars story based on Seven Samurai in the EU? One with an alien based on Bugs Bunny?
