I just love the fact that, to my knowledge, if it wasnt for him, very few would care about cycling at all....and a lot of people associated with cycling threw him under the bus after riding his success for all these years

I don't think people are totally turning their back on the legitimate good he did for cancer proceeds and such inasmuch as they're just a lil disheartened as him winning was such a feel good story when it was thought he did it all legit.
It's just a bit tainted there.

He's gonna be out a lot of money now as any one he successfully sued for saying he was a cheat will be getting that money back and then some. I was ok with finding out about Armstrong's secret until I read about this. It disgusted me. I wonder how long he'll draw out the process to return all that money he STOLE (+ interest).

If everyone's doing it, it's a pretty damn even playing field. He won on an even playing field.
I got no problem with him for it.

Depending on what he tells Oprah, he could be looking at jail time for perjury I think. Nah, Statute of Limitation for Perjury in Texas is 3 years, it's 5 years on the federal level. Best I can show the last time he testified or gave a deposition under oath was '05, so he's safe.

I am oddly fine with this. Maybe because I don't doubt a man who had cancer used a little help along the way. Not to mention damn near every competitive sport has at least one person, at whichever level is using PEDs. Does that make it "okay"? Not necessarily, but like a previous user said, would cycling be as relevant as it was/is if not for Armstrong?

There is absolutely nothing that will be done legally about this.

His competition wouldn't hold-up to this level of scrutiny either. If the only difference between him and other cyclists was doping that difference would've been made-up.

Well considering he didn't contest the accusations back in August I figured he has pretty much admitted it already.
Still, the guy was sentenced and I feel he's paid his dues.

What a piece of garbage.

I feel like Armstrong gets a free pass because of his cancer and the good image of cycling. If he were a football player, baseball player or worse yet a wrestler, the press would have burnt him alive. It's time for a lot of people to face the facts that he is a scumbag who did do some good things for cancer awareness. I don't think that absolves him of everything else.

The press has already been burning him for it, just glad that he finally admitted what some people knew and suspected maybe he legacy won't be tarnished that much. I feel that we as a society are willing to forgive someone if they confess they did something wrong, that is why the baseball writers aren't forgiving of certain Steroid Era Players because they haven't confessed and are holding that against them.

Lance is innocent, brothas.
He's just covering up for his bike.
His bike was the one taking the juice.

Yes. Not in the US (because people just wanted to see Lance in the US. Ask them about George Hincapie, Vyacheslav Ekimov or Roberto Heras and they will most likely give a weird look to you), but the world that already liked cycling would continue to like cycling anyway. Plus Germany which got its doping related case when the team that took Bjarne Riis to his only Tour de France win confessed to doping (yeah, Riis is Danish, but the team and most cyclist were German, including Lance's archrival Jan Ullrich).
