A few people have beaten Orton clean in recent years. It's great to see, especially since Barrett really needed that win.

What are the odds he beats him on Smackdown?

I'm pretty sure Wade has beaten Orton before during their 2011 feud and maybe even their 2010 feud.
This wasn't that surprising, besides if it really is building up to a heel turn, then good, he has so many choices now.

I was shocked when it happened, I was expecting Orton to find a way to finish off his own "Five Moves of Doom" on Barrett or have Barrett win in a flukey fashion. So it was a pleasant surprise to see Orton lose, as long as Barrett doesn't have to give the win back right away.

Orton is at Teflon level right now. He could lose to anyone and still stay over.

I don't really consider Orton a main eventer anymore, so it wasn't very surprising. I was going to say this. I don't think Orton really comes off as a Main Eventer anymore either. He seems more like an Uppermidcarder lately. I mean he'll definitely be back in the main event eventually, and probably by Wrestlemania, but he's faded out of the spotlight.

The question now is will that actually mean anything? What's next for these two? Is this the start of a decline that leads to an Orton heel turn? Is this going to help propel Barrett into a high profile feud for the Intercontinental Championship or a main event push or anything? Or will next week come by like nothing happened? I tend not to have much of a reaction to these kinds of things because yes, it's amazing that Barrett beat Orton clean but if it's not used to either start or continue someone's story then what was the point of doing it at all (aside from keeping Barrett from cooling down until they actually find something for him to do)?

I marked. When they started advertising Orton vs. Cesaro for Main Event during Orton's entrance, my thought honest to god was "They're seriously going to have him beat both the IC Champion and US Champion within three days?".

Well Barrett also kicked Orton down a flight of stairs and injured him for weeks (kayfabe) so it's not exactly a precedent changer.

I'd like to see this kind of thing more often. Decent, solid match where one guy beat the other, end of story.
As long as it's not a losing streak, losing one match doesn't have to be the end of the world. If we can get out of the mentality that a loss equals a burial, maybe we can get an actual wrestling show where they don't have to come up with ways to protect the loser.
