Seeing how Orton took a pin clean, only for Cena to have another dusty win really killed the enjoyment for me. Part of me's hoping that this is a storyline that leads Ziggler to learn that he doesn't need to cheat to win

But he already has, on a PPV main event. That's why they're letting Cena get all the tv wins. Any sort of rub Ziggler got from that PPV win has long since been negated by all the wins Cena's got over him. Not really, since he still has the MITB breifcase. And his profile is way higher than it was. He's the number 2 heel on Raw now, right behind Punk.

Dolph's mug has been all over Raw lately, he's not suffering at all I think in terms of his prominence with the fans. His booking sure has been odd though. I guess from the same mind that conjured Big Show vs SES.

I enjoyed it, but the ending really did make Ziggler and co. look inept. They did everything but drop a piano on Cena and he still won. Maybe if Dolph is the one who throws Cena out of the Royal Rumble they could continue the feud, but right now it seems over.

I hated it. I picture them backstage putting together the match saying "Remember how last week you kicked out of every single one of Zigglers finishers as well as Langstons then win with a single random AA? Yeah, let's do that again this week but in a cage." It's not me being one of those fans, at this point I kinda don't care about Ziggler anymore, he's bounced off the glass ceiling too often, but it got ridiculous.

Hated the finish. Would have been fine if Ziggler had been getting the better of Cena for a little while and this was the big payoff.
One little nitpick... was anyone else really annoyed by Cena not taking a bump off the dropkick? Ziggler does an incredible dropkick off the top rope and Cena just kinda steps off, lands on his feet and falls over... I mean come on Cena... at least take a back bump. Would have made the move look incredible

Kinda easy for you to say.
Cena's probably under instruction to stay healthy for mania.

I thought it was ok but was tempered by the fact that you knew Cena was going to win. I've watched matches from 15 years ago on DVD that the result was more in doubt for lol.
It doesn't bother me though, as I never watch Raw etc. except for special episodes and RR/Wrestlemania but for regular viewers I must imagine it gets a tad frustrating

I expect Cena to win most of these matches but having the story of 2 matches in a row between the two being that Cena is going to just kick out of everything, shrug off all interference etc...then win with an AA without even an STF followup...kinda silly.

What Ziggler and Cena did in the cage was great and I thoroughly enjoyed it... even though I didn't like that the match had that outside stuff with A.J. and Langston, it was all done really, really well. Really impressed with this match.

He won even more than squeeky clean. He won crystal clean.
Twice in a row with xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx interference from team Ziggy.
Way to go. Burying time.

Wouldn't logic dictate that the reason this match was in a cage was due to all the interference from last week? So wouldn't it make more sense if Cena LOST last week then, thus needing the cage to keep the riffraff out for a fair match? In that scenario I'd have no issue with this match. It was a great match for sure, but it was HORRIBLY marred by some dogshit awful booking.

That's the problem I have with Cena's booking. I could understand if visually he looked like Hogan, Warrior, Taker, and hell even Austin where they legitimately looked like they could take a beating and throw one back in return.
As many stated, it makes Dolph look bad booking wise that Cena kicks out of everything he throws at him.

Also, the setting for this match was wrong. Ziggler should have won with all that help last week. He then should have cheated/got DQed/something that gets him over Cena without a clean pin again. Then the cage match is the blowoff at the PPV where Cena gets the clean win.

Ziggler is Mr. Perfect. Cena is Hulk Hogan or the Ultimate Warrior.
Nothing Ziggler does will ever touch him.

HEY, the only reason Hulk can still walk is becuase he never took a PerfectPlex. That move would've ended Hulkamania *snaps* just like that.
In all seriousness the Perfect/Hogan comparison makes some sense, but there's differences. WWE isn't stacked with a bunch of badass heels that can keep the Cena-Mania train going for 10 years. Cena's not nearly as over or nearly the draw that Hulk Hogan was. Ziggler is one of their top 5 performers, and he needs to be elevated. You've got to elevate your best guys.

I don't get this notion where Ziggler is supposed to be seen on the same level as Cena, because he isn't. Is he better technically in the ring? Sure, he is. But that doesn't put him on the same level as face-of-the-company.
JBL once quoted the phrase "Big guys line up, little guys bunch up"...Ziggler's an underdog who's associates have been bumbling away his wins as of late. He's constantly fighting a losing battle and the idea that the WWE is on the kick of showing how "good guys always win" isn't helping him.
Before that, he was flat beaten by John Cena, despite getting his win on PPV. His selling ability, which is obviously the biggest aspect to Ziggler? It's also his hinderance and it's what's keeping him in the role of making others look good. He isn't on Cena's level and that's how it's been booked from the start. And I think the people waiting for him to get to that point? They're going to be waiting for a long time.
Just enjoy the matches they have and enjoy the fact that Ziggler's getting this kind of Tv time. Enjoy the small victories.

Everybody remember how we were saying the same thing about CM Punk never getting over on Cena no matter what he does. And now look at him, champ for 2885245 days or whatever it is now. Don't think that this loss doesn't build Dolph's cred to get to the top of the ladder.
