I remember seeing a trailer for this game a while back. It was supposed to be a fighting game with WWE superstars and they look a little more cartoony than in WWE All Stars. I was curious about this game a while back and I know people were knocking it. I can see that developers were making a spinoff type of game like how Crush Hour was years ago.
Here is a trailer for it:
I kind of laugh at Sheamus' hair being fiery, literally. Also, the girl at the end, I wonder if that is supposed to Kelly Kelly or Natalya.

I wish we'd see more WWE games today that are different, like this and your mentioned Crush Hour.
WWE Smash Brothers would rock the house. All the weapons/powerups/stages are more or less already set up for it.
Finally, Heath Slater could win the Rumble by hitting John Cena into orbit (and over the top rope that is 150 feet in the air) with a cookie sheet.

Very likely the games been canned due to the poor sales of previous spin off games.

THQ is losing money hand over fist, and recently filed for bankruptcy. They simply couldn't afford to keep working on stuff like this. I know the company is up for sale, so maybe they'll get picked up by a studio with enough money to do projects like this again. I'd like to think so, because I was a huge fan of All-Stars. If that thing had a bigger and more up-to-date roster on the current side, I'd still play it. The lack of guys like Bryan, Ziggler, and modern CM Punk kill it, though.

I think I remember a barely acknowledged short report last year that said it was cancelled.
