12. Edge defeats Booker T in Toronto at Wrestlemania X8 They were fighting over shampoo! Goldberg beating Hogan should have been top 5 at the very least.

Hahahahaha. No. Number one doesn't even really belong in the top ten considering the others mentioned and the Goldberg/Hogan match. The SummerSlam match at Wembley is the right answer.

12. Edge defeats Booker T in Toronto at Wrestlemania X8 They were fighting over shampoo! Goldberg beating Hogan should have been top 5 at the very least. If we were talking just on the quality of the matches, I would absolutely agree and say it would even be top 3. But in terms of "Hometown victories," correct me if I'm mistaken, but Goldberg being from Atlanta wasn't that much of a component in the rising action, climax or fallout celebration. That in mind, I'd rank Flair's Starrcade '93 victory a tad higher for it being the moment everything fell into place to define him for the next decade in terms of the location, the anniversary and the return angle the entire Flair For the Gold and Vader feud fell on. Also, in terms of knowing what we know now, the Michaels victory over Sid is perhaps the strongest showing of any superstar in their hometown considering he has a 100+ degree fever and THE FLU. I can't walk more than 10 feet at a time without getting dizzy while under the weather to that degree, let along headline a stadium show at my hometown. Solid picks for the list though. I'd maybe swap 1 and 2 and add Beth's victory over Nattie last year somewhere (if you haven't seen it, it's probably the most emotionally invested I've been in a divas match in a half-decade).

Definitely one of the better WWE lists. I can't really argue with any of the rankings.

Since when is Italy and England "hometowns"? Great Khali is "From India" and Bret Hart refused to lose the title to Shawn in Canada. I'd imagine in 200 or so years, we'll get a Klingon who refuses to lose the title to a Romulan on Narendra III. But that will spark a whole different crisis.

9. The Rock defeats John Cena in Miami at Wrestlemania 28 Considering they worded it "biggest" hometown victories I don't see how they can put 8 matches higher than this. You had the biggest mainstream star ever in wrestling in his first singles match back in his hometown on the biggest show of the year. It was the biggest pay-per-view of all time and the biggest, most profitable match of all time. How could it possibly have been any bigger? I sense I've overused the word big here.

The crowd was totally silent and the match did nothing for anyone. That's not true. It set Punk up for a Jacknife Powerbomb. I'll admit I was overly harsh but it still doesn't deserve the number one spot, especially over the SummerSlam '92 match.

I think what confuses me most is Batista / JBL. Like, don't necessarily agree with most of the ordering of the list even if I can at least see where they're coming from, but who the hell remembers that match and why is it above Rock / Cena?

15. Kaitlyn defeats Eve for Divas title in Houston 14. Regal defeats Santino for IC title in Manchester 13. Edge defeats Booker T in Toronto at Wrestlemania X8 12. Batista defeats JBL in WHC defense in Washington D.C. 11. Santino defeats Umaga for IC title in Italy 10. Cactus Jack defeats HHH in debut at MSG 9. John Cena defeats Jericho for the WHC in Boston 8. Ric Flair defeats Vader in Charlotte at Starrcade 93 7. Trish defeats Lita for the Womens title in Toronto 6.The Rock defeats John Cena in Miami at Wrestlemania 28 5. HBK defeats Sid for the WWE title in San Antonio 4. Goldberg defeats Hogan for WCW title in Atlanta. 3. Hart Foundation wins 10 man tag match in Calgary 2. Bulldog defeats Bret for the IC title in England 1. Punk defeats John Cena for the WWE Title in Chicago
My version of the list. I like Cena winning the title in Boston, but I don't think it made as much of an impact as the others I ranked higher.
