I like how they've tweaked his gimmick slightly to make it more like what The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers had... not anti-America per se, just so facetiously pro-America that he may as well just go back to hating. But he should have stayed with his regular Swiss attire. He should pull a Kenzo and be obnoxiously pro american.

I agree that it has been very good, but I think Damien Sandow's push has been better. I'm a huge Sandow fan..... love everything that guy does in the ring and on promos. I like Sandow too. They've sort of leveled off with him thoughafter pushing him too quickly, and now he's in this tag team with Rhodes that is okay but both guys are better singles. He's been strong the whole time as well, I just feel like Cesaro's push has been handled even better.

I agree, he's been kept to look strong but also not entirely dominant and vulnerable which keeps him interesting. Usually WWE blow it by pushing guys too hard, making them invincible, predictable and boring.
Cessar can lose, even against lower card guys like Gabriel and Truth yet keeps looking strong. They've done a great job with him.

Agreed. Everyone needs to be beatable. They wrestle so many matches on TV a year now, if someone wins every single time it's complete overkill.

For a company known for not seeing things through, they really put faith in this guy. At first his heat was next to nil. Lately, well...it's not deafening, but there's hope now...

One more thing is, he doesn't cheat. It can be slightly annoying how seemingly every single heel has to cheat just to show they are the heel. It would seem contradictory to Cesaro's current character to be a cheat, and thankfully they are not going that way with him.

You would think they would have given him a new finisher and a gimmick better than heel 101 by now.

Yes it is,and he really deserves it. I can totally see him becoming world champion in the next year or the year after.

Next to Sandow, they are the two most consistently well-booked guys on the roster.

They've done a great job with him. I've mentioned this before, but Cesaro's a guy who will always be credible just because of his raw strength. Yeah, he's a skilled guy who can adapt well to any opponent, but his strength on top of that means he's always a threat, regardless of if he drops a match to a Sheamus or even someone like Kofi (depending on where Kofi is on the yo-yo string on a given day) here or there. Worry that he might be damaged by absorbing a loss to Justin Gabriel? No problem, have him deadlift Brodus Clay and flatten him out convincingly. He's the kind of guy who should always be credible in the crowd's mind.

As a guy who doesn't really watch the product, can someone tell me how live crowds have been towards him? Putting on great matches is oblig with Claudio, but has Antonio Cesaro actually gotten over with people after months of wasting away with Aksana?

He should pull a Kenzo and be obnoxiously pro american. Exactly. I like Cesaro a lot so far, he's gangbusters in the ring and a solid talker, but his "condescending foreigner" gimmick should be painted in a broader stroke than it is now. It's nice that it's different from the typical US-hating heel, but they can go farther with it. He needs to really rub it in the crowd's face, come out with an Uncle Sam hat and go on about how he as a Swiss native is a better American than the hard-working Americans out there. Don't have him imply that the fans need to work harder to be as good as him, because that's getting too far into the realm of "heel with a point". His message should be that the fans will never be as great an American as him regardless of how hard they try.

So how long until they screw up his push and turn him into a comedy character?

So how long until they screw up his push and turn him into a comedy character? They won't do it because WWE actually sees money in Cesaro and he goes out there and prove them right.

Yeah, he's gotten over, more now than the whole Aksana/'say a word in 5 languages' days. The fans know who he is and what to expect when he comes out, and root against him. I won't lie and say he's mega-over or anything, but people have taken notice.
