He's had a really steady, strong, yet reasonable and even-keeled push that has never once looked too big for him. Usually guys get stalled too much or are forgotten about, or pushed super-hard out of the gate to a point where it feels forced. It doesn't feel like he's being monster-pushed, yet he wins every match and has stealthily become a top threat where him in a 20 minute match with Randy Orton seems normal.
I'm just trying to figure out what accounts for this working so well. A lot of it is Cesaro being so experienced, unique, and polished. He can keep himself interesting doing the same thing every week with different wrinkles, which is very beneficial with the repetetive nature of WWE. But WWE is to be commended as well, for bringing him along at just the right pace. A debut push is a story, storytelling is heavily reliant on pacing, and WWE's got it right with Cesaro.

All I know is, I want them to introduce a counterpart face who is an immigrant to America who constantly talks about how much better it is than his home country, who kneels to punch downed opponents in the face and is named Antonio Bizarro.

He is actually one of the few I think could have been pushed faster without falling on his face too. The guy just has "it". Plus he works well with everyone so far. He is one of the few bright spots for me right now.

I like how they've tweaked his gimmick slightly to make it more like what The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers had... not anti-America per se, just so facetiously pro-America that he may as well just go back to hating.
But he should have stayed with his regular Swiss attire.

Amazing heel and a steady motion to make him great with out changing his gimmick.... How long until the E turns him face?

Tonight on Main Event, Cole talked about how Cesaro doesn't hate America, but hates Americans for being too lazy/undisciplined/self-entitled to take advantage of their opportunities. I like that, makes him seem more human less caricature. The foreign heel gimmick isn't the best, but at least it's a hook that's solidified him in the minds of the audience. It's something simple to digest as a backdrop while he shows us how damn good of a wrestler he is, and it's kind of holding off his "real" personality for later on.

The US attire is awesome and that element (with the flag, American jacket, and promos) are much better done than Sheamus wearing red, white, and blue trunks suddenly for no reason. ![](http://www.wwe.com/f/photo/image/2013/01/ME_016_Photo_21.jpg)

I'd like for someone to counter the Americans are lazy stuff by pointing out how much more vacation and all Europeans tend to get.

I like him being the anti-American type who loves America but hates Americans. That's actually a bit of a fresh angle on one of the most tired angles.

I agree. And he's awesome in his current role of patronizing us with the American flag. "Look at me, I'm not even from here and I represent this flag better than all of you! Show some class; I represent what you used to be." It's a perfect way to generate heat from hard working people who don't get appreciated for what they do.
It's a fresh spin on the foreign heel. All it took was Jinder Mahal bombing for them to realize the old xenophobic tactics didn't work as well in the 2010s.
He has that main event aura about him, just like Del Rio did when he debuted. The guy already has a great look that makes him stand out without being goofy, he already has the mannerisms, he has the height/muscles/look of a big star, he has the skills, and he has the style that a modern main event heel should have.
He's one of the most important people they have on the roster.

I agree that it has been very good, but I think Damien Sandow's push has been better. I'm a huge Sandow fan..... love everything that guy does in the ring and on promos.

100% agree - they're really pacing his rise in WWE well. Tag team with some former WHC's then back to defending his US title. Plus he really puts the emphasis on his title as being important (even if for very heelish reasons).

Yeah, not only has Cesaro been looking great during his push, but he's really making the US title look more important than it's looked in a while. And it's not even like they're doing anything all that complex. Just booking the champion strong, and having him defend it against a variety of opponents regularly. It's makes one wonder why it takes the WWE so long to do such simple things.

Speaking as a "foreigner" I was also tired of the old anti-US gimmicks they gave, but I have to agree with a few people here that the way they're doing it this time actually works. I'm still just dying for him to get on his knee and go "heeeeyyy!" like he used to if he ever got a face run. It caught on everywhere else, why not here?

He was the proud CHAMPION of THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!
