I really don't care how many people she's dated but she reminds me of some friends I had in the past who would constantly go after and date the same kind of losers over and over. Then afterwards they'd complain about how they can never find a decent guy and all men are jerks, etc.

It's kind of a shame that a woman trying to date and find somebody has to be insulted constantly about it because she shares feelings and experiences in songs that some people don't like. It'd be less of a shame if she didn't do this to herself. Every artist writes a breakup song or 2. Swift has used relationships as a device to help her career. All the while, painting every guy she's dated as some heartless monster

I think that the idea of Taylor dating men for song material is a joke gone awry. Yes, she does seem to be a serial dater, but I doubt anyone would willingly subject their selves to the pain of a breakup just for a song. Hell, I could write break up songs all day long just based on other people's relationships falling apart-even fictitious characters.
I mean if the theory was true-one day Taylor will be ready to settle down and start a family-will she have to walk away from music because she's out of material?

Dude have you even heard her last.......several.....singles? It would be one thing if people were just blowing it out of proportion, but we have freaking evidence. Literally every time she broke up with someone a song about the guy she broke up with wasn't that far behind.

Oh I know, but with just about anyone, either they write a love song, or a song about love gone wrong. She's kind of dating as if she were a teenager with crushes on several different guys. I haven't looked deep into them to realize or know if every single one is based on a true life experience, or some are embellished

So its slut shaming, but its ok because.......she sings about it? I don't know, that picture doesn't say much. I don't think it's slut shaming. it's "whiny little bitch" shaming, which I'm all for whenever anyone gets that way, gender-irrespective. personally I don't really care either way I just think it's funny is all.

BTW, I'm certain she'll have a song or 2 upcoming about being rejected by a crush. Just watch and wait...... She's actually planning on covering Dolph Ziggler's old theme. "I AM REJECTION! REJECTION!"

Yeah, I have to agree that it's not really slut shaming. I think one of the biggest reasons people have started disliking her is the huge disconnect between the image she tries to portray and how she seems to actually behave. She has quotes like the one mentioned, about wanting to fall in love rarely, but then dates a ton of guys in an extremely public manner. She tries to present herself as a much more serious musician than a lot of her pop music contemporaries, but then her songs are pretty generic and standard. Plus she acts very sweet and nice, but then all of her music is trashing people. She just seems very fake, even compared to other celebrities.

Sounds like a bunch of hate to me, since when has dating someone equaled being in love with them. Is their some time frame that a woman must use before they can go back to dating? I know after I break off with a chick, I go right back to fishing, and everything she does is going to be in a very public manner, she's Taylor Swift.

Because she goes out of her way to make sure people don't miss it. Then when it ends, rather than have it end gracefully, she makes damn sure that EVERYONE knows what a poor helpless victim she is

Honestly it was justified with Jon Mayer because that guy is a colossal douchebag. But after awhile, you have to wonder.

While the argument obviously is being made that she goes back to the same well a lot, the songs are damn good. And her songs not inspired by breakups are just as good.

I'm with you. As I said in the other thread about her on here,I'm not even a fan of her music. Still,I think she gets a lot of irrational hate. So she writes breakup songs? A lot of artists do that. Adele has won a lot of Grammys off those type of songs and no one seems to bash her. Plus, she does write more than breakup songs. It just seems her most popular ones deal with breakups so I can't fault her for doing so. I can understand people not liking her music. That's fine. As I said,I'm not a fan either. But some of the hate she gets makes me just shake my head at times.

T-Swift is an above average singer at best. Plus, Adele's break-up songs have a bit of subtlety to them. They aren't just OMG, we are like totally not getting back together. Adele writes songs about being truly heart broken, Swift writes songs for love-sick teenagers.

It's kind of a shame that a woman trying to date and find somebody has to be insulted constantly about it because she shares feelings and experiences in songs that some people don't like. According to a news search she's written 5 songs already about breaking up with her latest boyfriend. One has to wonder if she spent time during the relationship coming up with material. She's not trying to date - she's just enhancing her career in a purely selfish and faux-emotional way. Plus I'm fairly sure Taylor Swift has gone on record (around the time the "We're never getting back together" song came out) that she enjoys breaking up with boys because it gives her material. She writes music for teenage girls; of course there's gonna be a lotta break-up songs in that catalog. That's kinda their deal.

She's being smart being writing stuff directly to that demographic.
