Alduin in Skyrim. Maybe I've been spoiled from MMO's and Final Fantasy VI, but I expect at least three forms for a final boss and some change in tactics.

I've never finished MK4, due to a lack of playing from that one weekend I rented it, but what was so disappointing? I recall MK to that point, as a whole, was generally cheap and unfairly difficult. MK 4 as a whole sucked and Shinnok being the biggest of the problems. None of the fighters really put up a challenge and wasn't difficult in the slightest. I figured Shinnok would be the exception because he was the final boss and I steamrolled through everyone else by literally picking up items from the ground and throwing them. Nope, Shinnok was a mac loser and a jobber like the others.

Bioshock. Incredibly easy. It took me three tries in total, but that's only because I kept forgetting to heal, I still had 8 medpacks left. Really easy and not at all scary after a truly stunning lead in.

Ganon at the end of the first Legend of Zelda. It takes forever to navigate through the dungeon and you vanquish him with something like two hits.

I hope Shinnok in MK10 isn't as big of letdown as he was in MK4.

The Catalyst in ME3. One shot and you get the refusal ending.

Borderlands, for me anyway. Didn't bother with the DLC because it bummed me out so much.

Joker in Arkham Asylum. Was expecting a little more out of the battle. Was just going to put this. The whole game was soooo good. Then SuperJoker.

I used that up on Big Daddies, don't think it even occured to me to try it with Fontaine.

Hoyt Volker from Far Cry 3 and Charles Lee from Assassins Creed 3. All just glorified quicktime events after a series of targets with more story significance (Vaas,Haytham) who actually had epic feeling battles.

The Catalyst in ME3. One shot and you get the refusal ending. lost in all the hullaballoo of the endings (which I didn't hate, though the extended cut was much better), I'll say Mass Effect 3's biggest weakness as a game is that it doesn't really have a last boss. you have a huge mook rush, and then you get ported to the space station and the last several minutes are all cutscenes (albeit interactive ones). it's a great game but it doesn't really build to its climax as well as it could have because the last encounter is just a mook rush.

Morrowind's showdown with Dagoth Ur was a pretty big letdown. You just run to the Heart of Lorkhan and wack it with your plot weapons.
BTW I hope you have some skill in Short Blade and Blunt Weapon or you're going to have a hard time hitting a completely stationary object.
Arkham Asylum's Joker is pretty awful, too. Especially since he's exactly the same boss fight as everyone else not named Ivy.

I remember thinking that when the game first came out (1997-98) that quan chi was the "real" villain of the game. Compared to shao kahn and shang tsung, shinnok seemed really weak, mainly since his signature power was mocking other fighters moves (lamer version of shang's transforming). And he was supposed to be a former elder god (the highest rank in the mk universe)?

They are easily the worst things about an otherwise excellent game.

I remember being disappointed with how Skies of Arcadia became too easy as it went on, leaving me wistful for the frustrating ass challenge of stuff like Beleeza and then the giga right after her.
