Alberto Del Rio defended his World Heavyweight title last night against The Big Show. The Anchorage crowd was booing Del Rio (bunch of idiots lol) and cheering Big Show despite Del Rio being a face and Show being a heel. So, mid match, they switch roles even though Show still showed heelish mannerisms after the match. Such as not slapping any hands on the way back or anything but he did stop to pose atop the ramp.
Do they do this often on house shows if someone's not being cheered or booed? Just curious as I wasn't expecting them to switch like that.

Yeah Edge and Flair switched at a house show I went to in 2004.
Everyone was booing Edge and wooing for Flair so he Edge grabbed a mic and said:
"I'm gonna give you something to cheer and smile about with your shiny yellow teeth, ya British bastards!"

I'm kind of wondering how this Del Rio/Show program will work with kids. Kids f***ing love Big Show, and probably are less likely to be charmed by Del Rio than adult fans.

That's what happened here in Anchorage. I got to live the Cena Hate in person... kinda. All the kids were cheering for Show and all the adults, such as myself , were cheering for Del Rio.

Happens quite often.
And that is why I LOVE house shows. The wrestlers get to toss the script and have more fun.

Sorry to be posting so much, I'm still wired from the show. I haven't been to a show since 2005 but they've always played along the lines as far as "script" goes while here in Alaska.
I take that back, Matt Hardy back in 2003 was a heel but played a face in a match against Chuck Palumbo.

I think Ricardo will help with that. There's something childlike about him and I think kids will really connect with DelRio helping him out against the big bad bullies while he helps raise RR.'s self esteem and teach him to stand up and defend himself. I think kids could really get on board a storyline like that.

I can remember a house show they did here in town way back like ten years ago. When Lesnar was first champ, he wrestled Triple H(who was the other champ) and Lesnar totally played the hometown hero when, in kayfabe Lesnar was heel I think. They kept Paul Heyman from being at ringside and announced him from Webster South Dakota. I remember when Triple H first came out, lots of people were cheering him, but he grabbed the mic and totally went all heel on the crowd. Calling us inbred pig farmers and such. It was pretty funny.

I went to a house show in Japan earlier this year. Daniel Bryan wrestled Kane, and even though Bryan was the face (despite being a heel on TV - this was just before SummerSlam), the fans eventually sided with Kane. This might've been partly because the match mostly consisted of Kane getting caught in various submission holds and fought his way out of them.
Eventually Bryan got so frustrated by the crowd that he grabbed a chair from ringside (which got him booed even louder), but Kane pinned him with a chokeslam and left.
And then when Bryan eventually got back up from the mat, he got an applause as well.

One of the oddest happened here in Turkey. I couldn't attend, but in 2010 there was the Smackdown Europe Tour and one of the matches was Kaval vs Ziggler. People booed the hell out of Kaval and cheered like crazy for Ziggler.
Of course, that was probably because Ziggler visited the country before, but still. Some people said Kaval looked shocked the entire match.

When TNA toured the UK (I can't remember what year it was, but it was the last tour with the 6sided ring) Aj Styles was working as a face, they knew this was going to happen (they diddn't even try and present him as a heel) this was during his "lil naitch" heel run
