I admit that this is not my kind of film in general, but I found it incredibly long and boring. Really, the right editor could have made the picture much stronger by shaving off about an hour. I saw it along with my mom and she actually fell asleep during it multiple times. She woke up saw nothing was going on and just went back to sleep haha. It's funny because she never does that during movies.
Even if you are into action movies based on real events and that sort of thing save your money. There is much better out there.

well, its not an action movie. its about the search for Bin Laden, not "Oh, it took about ten years but we found him so lets go kill him now" and the movie is all about the raid on the compound

Thought the first half was boring but it picks up when they find the compound.

I cannot wait to see it. When I first saw the trailers for it, I was excited but then I saw the one with the choir version of Nothing Else Matters and became must see.

Not watching it because it makes me think of Roman Triumphs way too much.
Plus it's apparently basically Legally Blonde 2 with tortur- ... it's apparently basically Legally Blonde 2.

I thought it was excellent, definitely worthy of the high praise it has been receiving... I loved Django, but this is what I'm rooting for most when it comes Oscar time.

I wanted to hate it. I really enjoyed it. Despite everyone already knowing the ultimate outcome, I thought it was very suspenseful. I think you should go in with an open mind and judge it for yourself rather than taking the word of the media and politicians.

I found it pretty engaging, even if it was a lot different from the sort of movies I usually enjoy. The film did a darn good job of "questioning" the viewer whether there was moral justification for the CIA to use such techniques to track down bin Laden. I think they also did a good job of not making anyone to be heroes, even the SEAL Team Six soldiers.

Let's not dick around, they basically said that's how it happened. No ifs, ands, or buts. Not saying I agree or disagree with it, I'm just saying it's naive to think that all the movie did was "question" whether those tactics are useful and justified.

Depiction of the truth doesn't necessarily equate to "endorsement". Would it have been preferred if the film glossed over that portion and just focused on how awesome SEAL Team Six was in their mission? If that had been how the movie was, it would've lost all potency and just be essentially a patriotic piece like Act of Valor.

Would it have been preferred if the film glossed over that portion and just focused on how awesome SEAL Team Six was in their mission? If that had been how the movie was, it would've lost all potency and just be essentially a patriotic piece like Act of Valor. The thing is that there was nothing in the movie that gave any sort of implication that maybe they were doing the wrong thing and there's maybe another, more humane way of going about things even though I'm sure there was at least one person who maybe thought they were wrong from the inside. I don't see how anybody could have come out of that movie thinking anything other than "it worked and is justifiable". For that reason, I don't see how someone can say that it was in any way objective about it. If they wanted to put across a point of "questioning" those tactics they would have made it clear. I didn't feel like they did. Therefore, I honestly don't see it as that realistic of a portrayal personally. That's just my opinion on that though. I'll take my leave now.

We do see the effects the methods have on Jessica Chastain's character, especially as the May 1st mission comes. It drives her to an obsession and by the end, we see her not at a state of jubilation that her lengthy mission has come to an end. Just confusion at what comes next for her.

I heard there was some controversy regarding the accuracy of this film? That there was a possibility that there were some leaks of classified information?

Loved it. Found it very fascinating and engaging and the raid at Osama's fortress was very well choreographed. To make a movie like this one year after it happened to be this good and apparently somewhat accurate is very impressive.
