They said on Smackdown that Hell No will face Rhodes Scholars for the Tag Team Titles at Royal Rumble.
So does this mean that none of those four will be in the Rumble match?
If that's the case, I'll be dissapointed. Was somewhat upset Kane wasn't in last year's match, and for him to miss two in a row seems very blah to me.
I could be wrong, but how they're talking about only 30 slots and such...yeah...

I think only the World Champ & WWE Champ are exempted from the Rumble.

I got a vibe that Daniel Bryan was in it based on how he changed the subject on Randy Orton when Orton was talking about his Royal Rumble aspirations. I'm sure Team Hell No will be in.

Yeah, guys have wrestled in the Rumble after wrestling another match earlier in the night. Only the World Champs can't enter the Rumble.

I would rather they not be in the Rumble match. I feel that the Royal Rumble event should be used to showcase as much of the roster as possible, and very few, if any wrestlers should be pulling double duty.

The roster is fairly thin right now and it would be kinda silly to not put as much star power as possible into one of the biggest matches of the year. Personally, I've always been a fan of guys pulling double duty. Makes them look pretty awesome, IMO.

Also, if the dirtsheets are to be believed, the tag match is going to last 10 minutes with entrances and post-match stuff, so the guys are still going to be pretty fresh for the Rumble.

I just feel that it wouldn't be right for anyone to be left off of the Rumble PPV just because someone had a match AND worked the Rumble match.

One of the subtle things to notice about some of the previous Royal Rumbles where superstars pulled double duty... if two guys had a match and they later were both in the Royal Rumble, whoever lost the one on one match would later eliminate the guy who beat them. Examples: Tatanka/Bam Bam Bigelow in 1994 where Tatanka won the match, but was eliminated from the Rumble by Bigelow. Also see in 1997 where Triple H pinned Goldust but was later eliminated by him in the Rumble.

Kane adds way more to the Rumble than someone like JTG, Yoshi, or even Ryder. WWE needs to start treating their undercarders a bit better. They have to start somewhere and imo the Rumble is the best place to start. Since Rock vs. Punk is the main selling point of the Rumble event, and these guys would only be a small part of a match that a bigger star is going to win anyway, throwing someone like JTG, Yoshi or Ryder into the Rumble match isn't going to hurt the buyrate. WWE has to make real effort to get their undercard guys over, and it needs to be done ASAP rather than putting it off until whenever.

I completly agree that WWE needs to get better at creating legit mid-carders but I really don't think the Rumble is the best place to do it. It's way too easy to get lost in the shuffle in those matches and unless one of those guys is gonna get a Maven-style shock elimination over a huge star, they're just gonna end up being warm bodies to be fed to Ryback or some other established star. I understand your reasoning but having those guys in the Rumble isn't gonna do anything for them and it's just gonna hurt the quality of the match in the long run. The big draw behind the Rumble is that it sees the biggest stars in the company do battle for a chance to compete for the biggest prize (I know, I know, the WHC isn't on the same level as the WWE title and Rumble winners curtain jerk Wrestlemania nowadays but I'm speaking from a kayfabe perspective here) on the biggest stage of them all. It's cool to have one or two Zach Ryder-types in the match but anymore is taking away from the whole idea behind the match. EDIT: Actually, after thinking about it, the match would probably need more lower-carders/jobbers to fill it out. My point still stands though. Don't replace established stars in the Rumble with lower-carders/jobbers.

I'm all for pushing the undercard and everything, but this is freakin' KANE. He should be in the Rumble.

I rather like it when folks in the undercard matches AREN'T in the Rumble. More chances for midcarders/surprises to be in the Rumble itself.
Though I expect perhaps one of the teams, at least, to be in the Rumble. Or perhaps one member of each, just to mix it up at bit.
