People complain but Sting is a great replacement for a guy like Hardy. Sure it would of been great if Jeff had shown up but I'm sure it will still be a great event with Sting.
I remember I attended a WWE House Show 6-7 years back here in Australia and someone had bailed out of the show I believe it was a special guest appearance from JBL or something (Who was on top of Smackdown at the time)
JBL got hurt (For real) the week before on TV and didn't come over and he was replaced by Brian Kendrick and Paul London, hardly an equal replacement
Went to another show that had Mick Foley booked. Foley signed with WWE and he was replaced by absolutely nobody.
So yeah the fans getting an equal replacement seems rare in wrestling. Good for TNA for not screwing their fans

Good for TNA for not screwing their fans But they did. They advertised Hardy knowing goddamn well that he wasn't going to show up.

ya know, maybe he actually IS injured, and the site is reaching for a story. He's not Spoiler for the end of the 1/24 Impact (the 1/18 event mentioned in the PR) {Spoiler}Hardy beats Daniels clean, Taz comes out and cuts a promo on Hardy who is then attacked and beaten with a hammer like Angle and Sting were. yeah, like people haven't wrstled hurt or been given a storyline injury to match a real one before.... hell, Hardy's last WWE match was wrestled while he had spinal damage.

To be completly fair, this is the same company that sent Hardy out when he was in no shape to wrestle and basically f***ed over everyone that bought that PPV. Hardy may be hurt but it's just as likely that TNA decided to lie and advertise him knowing that he wouldn't be able to make it.

What is the point in making your world champion a guy who can't defend it in different parts of the world. It's not like they leave the country that often. Was just going to say that. Hell, they barely leave Florida.

Nobody is saying the show will suck without Hardy or that Sting sucks or anything like that, so it's not clear why you are attacking that straw man.

They based their entire advertising for this tour on Hardy knowing damn well he couldn't go because of his legal issues. This wasn't a shock and was talked about when it first happened, people just gave TNA the benefit of the doubt because no one thought they'd be low enough to advertise him unless he was going to be there.

We've got Aces & Eights! That's something neat, huh?"

Good for TNA for not screwing their fans But they did. They advertised Hardy knowing goddamn well that he wasn't going to show up. Dave Meltzer is reporting that. Dirt sheets aren't gospel. It could be a legitimate injury for all we know. Jeff might not of wanted to show up. It could be anything. Meltzer is probably making an educated guess

Jeff might not of wanted to show up. It could be anything. Meltzer is probably making an educated guess PWInsider is the one to break the story and they are very friendly to TNA and get exclusives from them. You can't bait and switch like that especially if you sold tickets promising that Jeff Hardy was finally coming back to the UK. Last time they did a tour there it was sold based on seeing Sting one last time and now he's returning. Kinda like KISS keep saying this is their last tour. Or going to a show to see Hulk Hogan and they bring out Roddy Piper. Yeah, it's Piper but you paid to see Hogan. The thing can't afford to lose is consumer confidence. If you lose consumer confidence, you lose the chance to make money. Hardy's injury is kayfabe not legit. And if it was legit, will TNA offer refunds to those folks that bought tickets to see Jeff?

To listen to people here, you'd think TNA's only selling point for the UK tour was Jeff Hardy, Jeff Hardy, Jeff Hardy with everyone else coming a distant second, maybe the local advertising in things like print have been different, but the TV adverts within impact have been focussed on Austin Aries, TNA's having their first cage matches outside of the US and that they're filming several impacts in London and Manchester.
I can understand people being upset, but you are warned that cards are subject to change, that's the reality of wrestling.

Again, people are upset because TNA knowingly advertised a guy that they KNEW IN ADVANCE would not be there. This isn't a case of a unforeseen incident (an injury for example) causing the card to be changed. This was a bullshit tactic used to sell tickets. If Hardy actually is hurt, then fine, nothing you can do about that. If that's not the case, however, this is some bush league BS.

To me, this is like complaining about flying coach but getting bumped up to first class. Just take the win and be happy.

"Card subject to change" doesn't mean you can just advertise anyone and then change it to what is actually possible. If you think it's alright to advertise whomever you want, knowing they won't/can't be there, then why not just advertise Champion vs Champion, TNA Champion Jeff Hardy vs WWE Champion C.M. Punk for the TNA U.K. Tour? 100% chance of neither showing up for that match. Card is subject to change, but at some point in time, the card has to be something that can actually happen in the location you're having the card.
