And makes me a little sad too. Agreed. To me, my childhood memories of watching the WWF include a time when the ropes were red, white, and blue, there was very little pyro, Vince McMahon was just an announcer, and the referees wore button-ups and bow-ties. And despite the fact that the show was more "showy" than the wrestling of the territories, it still somehow felt like watching a real sport. From the Attitude Era on, it looked more like a show than a sporting event. No theme music when the face would "interrupt" the heel's promo and (my wrestling pet peeve) no theme music during the actual Royal Rumble match. You kids had no idea what you missed.

Plus, the logo was so much cooler with the F.

Wrestlers (and even Vince himself) still occasionally to WWE as World Wrestling Entertainment in their promos. I believe that officially/legally, the company is still "World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc.". "WWE, Inc." is just the company's shorthand DBA name.
I've gotten used to the WWE name, and I'm not one of those guys who complains that the word "entertainment" is "evil", since professional wrestling by definition is a form of entertainment.

It's WWE now. Until any sort of legal issue forces their hand again, it's going to stay WWE.

It wouldn't be the same WWF anyway with all these social media crap. They might aswell keep it as WWE and leave the memories of WWF alone!
I miss it though, especially the old red, white and blue ropes.

Absolutely! "World Wrestling Entertainment" has never made sense as a name for a wrestling company in the first place. A Federation is a thing, it's a concrete group of people that come together for a cause. "Entertainment" is an abstract idea. A company is not "Entertainment," it DEALS in Entertainment, it SELLS Entertainment. It can't just BE Entertainment, the way it can BE a Federation.

"World Wrestling Federation" is a superior name
But they'd need the initials too. Otherwise they may as well stick with WWE.

I completely see what the op means and can imagine HHH making announcing that every Superstar would compete on every show with only World Champion. This new superleague would be named the World Wrestling Federation a division of WWE just like the Movies and the Network (throw in a New Nation and Ken Shamrock and HHH and the IWC can make ultimate peace).
I don't know how likely it would be but I would definitely approve of this kind of change. WWE never has settled right as a name for me personally.

"WCW" would have been a superior name.
"WWE" is just awful.
If they were intent on "WWE", then rather than the dumb "get the F out" campaign, they should have re-run the Invasion angle, and concluded it with WWF, WCW and ECW merging as WWE

I don't care what they call it, as long as they're free to not censor the old stuff.
Honestly, I'm just surprised that it hasn't been changed to "World Sports Entertainment" yet.

Since WWE has settled with the World Wildlife Fund for Nature over the name dispute, perhaps now would be a good time to bring back the full name of "World Wrestling Federation." Now, I don't mean the company at large should go back to being the WWF or anything like that. WWE has rammed it down our throats as well as the media's that they are no longer just a "wrestling company", but a global media and entertainment empire, blah, blah, etc. With that in mind, I would suggest that the company as a whole should still be known formally as "WWE, Inc." (since they orphaned the full title of "World Wrestling Entertainment" in 2011), which would encompass their entire media enterprise (WWE Films, books, music, etc.). What I am suggesting is that everything that takes place on RAW, SmackDown! pay-per-view, etc (basically everything to do with what goes on with the actual wrestling aspect of the company), should be rebranded as the "World Wrestling Federation." Much like the brand extension of 2002 had the "RAW" and "SmackDown!" brands, now that the brand split is finished on television, the roster as a whole could be rebranded as a single entity known as the World Wrestling Federation. In fact, this sort of rebranding has taken place before. WWE was originally known as "Titan Sports" with the WWF being it's main subsidiary. It was later changed to "World Wrestling Federation Entertainment" (or WWFE) in 1999 with the company's IPO. The name itself has too much history and prestige to just be abandoned forever. The name change was necessary for legal reasons, but, now they can bring it back while still marketing themselves as a global media empire known as WWE. What do you think? Would you be in favor of such a rebranding? I like this idea

Just call them wrestlers instead of superstars.
