I have to say, TNA's been doing a great job in the way Christian York's been booked. The whole "last chance" Gut Check going into proving he can still hang, to his in-ring work now. I don't know if everybody's caught this (because TNA's been particularly subtle about it) but the bulk of York's offense has been either counters, or counters to counters of counters. It's made him a really believable threat to the young up-and-comers, allowed his opponents to show what they have to offer, and made everybody involved look strong.
Even the way they've tweaked his look, from a guy stuck in 2000, to a guy from 2000 who has survived a brutal decade to still be here. He's been a real asset to the program.

I would enjoy him more if he lost his bulky muscle mass, cut down on his spray tan, and cut off his dreads.

He's real good but the white boy dreads have got to go.

Wish he lost some muscle mass too he seems slow and gets winded kinda fast. I don't mind him though, I think he's a good underdog character.

I've only seen his match with RVD, but I honestly don't see it. His look doesn't bother me as much as the fact that he moves unreasonably slow for the style of wrestling he practices - even the rolling cutter he did had no snap to it. On top of that he doesn't seem to know how to sell very well ether. When him and RVD were trading forearms - nothing on York's end.

The only reason he, imo, looks as good as he has in the ring is because of several talented workers putting his stuff over.

I'll agree with the muscle mass and the tan, but I honestly like the dreads. They give him a unique look instead of "generic x-division/indy wrestler #8" and I hope he keeps them.
I also agree that he needs a little more snap to his moves. The guy has some good stuff, but he moves like he's more focused on not screwing up than actually making it look solid for Tv. Hopefully, he continues to improve.

I haven't seen him wrestle since 2001 ECW so maybe this is always how he wrestles though. I like him but not that much. He's not the type that's so good in the ring that he can get away with not having much personality.

See, I like the fact that his look is straight out of 2000. It gives his whole underdog forgotten relic unfrozen-caveman last-chance wrestler the right timing to not be old enough to qualify as retro-/nostalgia nor come off like he's trying too hard to fit with the times.

His look doesn't really matter to me, one way or the other, but I do agree that York sometimes seems... in slo-mo, for lack of a better term. He lacks the speed, timing and energy to deserve a top spot in the division, and it does show in his matches : the good ones are often the result of a great opponent that can slow down to his pace and compensate, the awkward/clunky ones are against opponents who do their thing, and don't bother carrying him.

His extra body mass is slowing him down. That and he haven't adjusted to the faster pace.

I want to like him but I feel like his matches are just in slow motion; it legitimately feels like someone has slowed down time somewhere.
He has a good story behind him, but I think he needs to change his style to one that he can do now that he's bulked up, as all these high flying moves just aren't working well for him at all.

He looks like he's either 10 years too old or 30 pounds too heavy for that haircut. probably isn't helped by the fact that he has the same hair and skin colour combo as the Hogans
