Oh crap. Not Stan. He and Willie Mays were the greatest living MLB players.
RIP, and thanks for being a class act.

Stan Musial was my grandfather's favorite player. I think my dad still has a signed baseball that Musial gave my grandpa.
Dude was a monster hitter. R.I.P.

It seems that someone in heaven corpsed, and they had to send for "The Man". R.I.P.

As a Cardinals fan I hate to hear that Stan is no longer with us, but he lived a long and fruitful life. Opening day will not be the same without him.
Two amazing things to me is that he was a 24 time all-star, and his 1948 season. It is one of the greatest seasons ever, he led the league in Hits, doubles, triples, RBI, Batting Average, On Base, Slugging, the only major category he didn't lead to league in was home runs, he hit 39, while Ralph Kiner and Johnny Mize led the league with 40, the crazy part of that is that Stan had hit a home run in a game that was canceled due to rain before it was an official game, if not he would have led the league in ever single major hitting category.

I hate the Cardinals, but only the modern day Cardinals. Stan truly was The Man and it saddens me to think it won't be long before there are no more former MLB players who played in the 1940s still alive.

Bobby Doerr is still with us. He's 94 though, and will be 95 in April, so, he may not have much time left. But I do hope he reaches 100 at least. He's one of the best Red Sox players ever, a teammate of Ted Williams who Ted actually admitted was a better player than Ted himself was. RIP Stan The Man. Never a Cardinals fan, but Stan was so classy that you just couldn't hate the guy at all.

He lived a long life but the fact that he and Earl both die on the same day is just creepy.
Godspeed Stan the Man.

To Cardinals fans and to many people who lived and breathed watching baseball, Stan Musial really was "The Man"

Well, this is a crappy day for baseball to say the least. RIP to one of the all time greats. Not only did both die the same day but Stan Musial played in St. Louis and Earl Weaver was born and raised in St. Louis and was in the Cardinals farm system for years.
