I hate the Cardinals, but only the modern day Cardinals. Stan truly was The Man and it saddens me to think it won't be long before there are no more former MLB players who played in the 1940s still alive. I'm in the same boat as you. So long to a true icon of baseball.

Here is a stat that Major Leaguers should take note of..........in his 22 years of playing Major League Baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals, he was NEVER ejected from a game.

He didn't hit a homer in his last at-bat; he hit a single. He didn't hit in 56 straight games. He married his high school sweetheart and stayed married to her. ... All Musial represents is more than two decades of sustained excellence and complete decency as a human being.

RIP Stan the Man. The true face of the Cardinals. One of the greatest players to ever play the game and one of the great people period. The man was just as amazing off the field as he was one it. Cardinal Nation and the baseball world last a great player. The world lost a great man.

Baseball's perfect warrior; baseball's perfect knight.
I wonder if someone will play "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" on harmonica at the HOF ceremony in tribute to him.
