Inspired by the non-traditional sports games thread on the Off-Topic board, I want to know which non-traditional wrestling games are your favorites. Here are mine: -Rumble Roses -Def Jam Vendetta -Saturday Night Slammasters
Was "Power Move Pro Wrestling" any good? Also, does Fire Pro count in this discussion? I know that the wrestlers/fighters are all real fighters but renamed for copyright reasons, but I wonder if that counts in this discussion. The game was not licensed by WWE or anything like that.

I always kind of liked those dumb MDickie games you could have death matches and sever limbs and stuff like that.
Definitely not huge in content or anything special but worth a look since it's free now.
I also kind of liked those Backyard Wrestling games if those count.

Def Jam: Fight for NY. Loved that game to death.

I used to download some of MDickies stuff as well, it's nostalgic thinking about them. Wasnt there something weird about that guy? I think I remember reading that in here. I suppose EWR and TEW would be considered non-traditional wrestling games, Im sure Im not the only one to download them and scour the internet for other similar games. I remember another couple of them which wernt as good, one of them was meant to have a sequel coming out for years which never came but I remember enjoying it loads before really getting into EWR. And there was another one I think where you had a career and it was really elaborate and weird but the best think about it was it came with a huge folder of 16 bit wrestling themes and other random tunes.

I guess if people are mentioning "Def Jam Fight For NY," then put me down for that as well. After all, it was the same wrestling engine but with different fighting styles.

DJ: Fight For NY is one of the best hidden gems in gaming.
I love sitting down to play it with people who think both hip hop and wrestling are stupid. Everybody gets hooked. It just plays so well.

If it counts, big fan of EWR and I've been trying to get into TEW.

If you count it as non-traditional, WWE All-stars was a lot of fun.

WWE All Stars is the best recent one I've played. Def Jam Vendetta was good as well. WrestleMania the Arcade Game was fun for the time with the Sega 32x version probably being the most accurate, but not many people owned a 32x.

Anyway, I'm glad to see other people like the Def Jam games. Vendetta played like one of the AKI N64 games and Fight For NY used a modified engine and it was more about street fights than wrestling. My favorite thing was spending tons of money on clothes after every match and making my fighters look like a total goof. Saturday Night Slam Masters is definitely That Game as well. I played that sucker to death on my SNES during the summer of 1994. I never played the sequel until years later, but it's pretty good, a bit closer to a traditional fighting game though.

I'm actually a fan of the first TNA iPhone game, the turn-based one with all the goofy storylines.

The graphics were about the same, but the 32x didn't have the absurd load times.

I'm actually a fan of the first TNA iPhone game, the turn-based one with all the goofy storylines. Amen to that. Digital Jim Cornette FTW! My personal favorites have to be the "help Nash seduce ODB" storyline and how you can go on a tear, beat everyone from Sting to Jeff Jarrett to AJ Styles to Kurt Angle, and still have Cornette say "you're only ready for a shot at a title shot!" It's like "what more do you want from me?!" Also, the complete derailing of Styles into an utter moron (correct me if I'm wrong, but Styles was a solidly established main eventer by 2008-2009, right?) who's a creepy redneck stalker for Christy Hemme, Abyss reverting to only speaking in one-word sentences (reeally weird given that I'm playing again after witnessing Joseph Parks), and the hilariously bad, sub-Cena trash talk...man, it's a good thing the gameplay is fun.
