Hmm, wonder if Pepsi has a sponsoring deal with this. And yeah, looks interesting but I'm more hoping that the plot is different than the comic sequel to Kick-Ass. Good lord was that a depressing read.

It must stay true to the comics. Fantastic read, loved the sequal.

Yeah the sequel comic just seemed to be mean purely for the sake of it. I really hope they tone it down for the film version.

I will be shocked if certain things actually make it into this movie..namely. {Spoiler}The rape and what happens to that poor poor dog. Although I have heard the first will be in but will be altered.

It must stay true to the comics. Fantastic read, loved the sequal. Well I read it's not going to include the following. {Spoiler}1. Child murder. 2. Rape. 3. Decapitation of both a human and animal and putting a dog's head in place of human head.

Yeah the sequel comic just seemed to be mean purely for the sake of it. I really hope they tone it down for the film version. Hopefully. The change was for the better from the first one, as well. The, uhh, "ending" from the comic sucked a... well, what the lady does for it.

PLEASE be nothing like the source material. I already like the dog, so I hope not. In fact, I hope the dog kills some bitches.

Yeah, if this strays from the source material or at least makes it less mean spirited, I'm on board. I liked the first one in spite of some changes that I wish they hadn't made, namely to Big Daddy.

And I disagree entirely. Big Daddy was infinitely better with actual motivation beyond: it could be fun. Everything the movie did was better in every possible way.

This leads me to ask: Is it ok to watch these kind of movies without knowing the source material
Because I went into both Watchmen and Kick Ass without reading the comics and I enjoyed them both

Everything the movie did was better in every possible way. This. I loved the movie so much. Plus Nicolas Cage doing a Adam West impersonation and making Big Daddy more likable and bad ass was by far the best change they did for the movie. Once again I'll watch the movie and may read the comics after seeing the movie like I did with the first one.

well Watchmen, the book is way better. in fact, I'd say you have to like the book to enjoy the movie, because the movie is basically all the major plotpoints of the book without any of the important supplementary material. if you didn't read the book first you wouldn't give a shit about anything that happens on screen. the whole movie was basically "here's that moment from the book, on screen". at the same time it's about as good an adaptation as you'll ever get because the book is damn near unfilmable (it'd work as an HBO miniseries, but it sure as shit wasn't meant to be condensed into 2 hours).
as for Kick-ass, the movie is better. the whole point of the book was "lol people who like comic books are losers", and the movie wisely ditched that tone. it also got rid of most of the blatant shock value the book had. the second book was even worse, including a gratuitous rape scene (like everything else Mark Millar writes, seriously I think he has some nasty, unhealthy issues with women).

Yeah, I went into Kick-Ass without reading the comic and I enjoyed it a LOT more I think. I don't really know a lot about about the sequel comic, but I know what happens to the dog and I really doubt they could get away with that in a movie.

I didn't know Kick-Ass was based on a comic until the "Based by on comic book by" credit. Love that movie. Was going to read the book, but then I found out about how Big Daddy was originally.
