Arguably the coolest part of Punk's legendary worked shoot promo is when he name dropped NJPW, ROH and Colt Cabana. Also, every fews years there is talk of WWE working with a Japanese company that nothing never comes of.
However, what if WWE struck a deal with NJPW and allowed Punk to work on their show? Who would he defend against? How long would he be there? Coud anyone realistically beat him for it?What would WWE do in the meantime? Would they even acknolwedge it?

In regards to booking part in the states, have Punk weekly "interrupt" via video package, complete with the changing channel soundbyte, and 'Cult of Personality" in the background as match highlights going, and Punk talking trash afterwards.
One night, Punk beats Rey for the "new" championship, another interruption, have a bunch of his match highlights. Have him talking trash as Rey is getting helped to the back. As Rey gets backstage, Punk looks over and says "Tough luck Rey, was hoping you would win" Pan in on Rey, who looks like he's seen a ghost. Punk walks out onto stage like his real return.
