Seeing as how the big four North American leagues get love around here, I thought I'd see who here enjoys MLS. I follow Houston Dynamo, and hope to go to a match this year.

I'm a casual follower of the Seattle Sounders.

I followed the Revolution up until a couple years ago when they began to suck terribly. Still if I'm flipping through the channels and I stumble on a game, I'll watch it.
It's funny, Robert Kraft is one of if not the best owners in the NFL, but the worst owner in the MLS. Really poorly run operation.

I don't follow it, but if its on TV I'll watch. Especially any combination of Portland/Vancouver/Seattle.

I like to keep tabs on the local team, the Red Bulls. Still think Metrostars was a better name.

I follow the Chicago Fire on a semi-casual basis. Since they show almost all the games on TV, I'm more of a fan.
I wish to go to a game sometime, Toyota Park is quite the hoppin' place on game day. And they have (arguably) one of the largest contingent of traveling fan clusters in all the country. They're always plugging the next fan road trip with the group known as "Section 8".
Pretty odd how most people around here know nothing about Chicago soccer aside from "The Sting were good". Please.

You're looking at another Dyanmo fan. Personally, though, I'm happy that my city is getting a NASL team next year. If things go well and we get a nice park, we may become a MLS team by the end of the decade.

The problem with the MLS is that the likes of FOX, ESPN and (from next season) NBC have picked up the different European leagues, and American fans have recognised that the Champions League, Premier League, Serie A, La Liga etc are superior products. The MLS is good for cultivating American talent, and for prolonging the careers of legends like Beckham and Henry, but Europe is still where the best stars play, and Americans are recognising this.

The MLS is good for cultivating American talent, and for prolonging the careers of legends like Beckham and Henry, but Europe is still where the best stars play, and Americans are recognising this. The problem with the MLS is that soccer is still just a highly niche product to begin with in the US, and that popularity only really grows when the World Cup occurs, and then wanes back down to the niche. Those that do follow it already know that the MLS isn't a high talent league compared to most European leagues, so I don't think people are really learning that our brand isn't up to par. Americans in general just don't care yet until we can tie nationalism into it.

My friend used to have Revs season tickets so I went ALL THE TIME.
Now that he's dropped those I barely watch games on TV

I like to keep tabs on the local team, the Red Bulls. Still think Metrostars was a better name. Totally agreed on Metrostars (especially since they were the New York/New Jersey Metrostars, and not just NY... considering they've always played their home games in Jersey). Didn't much like Red Bull becoming the owner and slapping their name on the team, but it did mean they got a pretty awesome new arena in Harrison. I wanted to get into the team once they moved to Harrison, which is one town over from where I grew up, but unfortunately they play so many games on Saturday nights, and they're typically on when I'm at work at my weekend job. Still, they're definitely a bigger presence around here than they ever were while I was a kid, so I guess they've made some decent progress.
