MORE PEOPLE HAVE WATCHED RAW THAN LAST YEARS SUPERBOWL! They actually did something very similar to that last year, when they claimed more people attended every RAW of that year, combined, than Super Bowl XLVI. Every RAW of the year....to ONE event. I wish I was making this up. I remember that one. I think they've also said that RAW was watched by more people than the NBA Finals and other short tournaments. I think Marvel Comics borrowed the technique when they started proclaiming that their titles were selling more copies per month than they had been recently...but not mentioning that the books were now shipping twice or three times per month.

"During the Attitude Era, people that didn't even watch wrestling knew what a Steveweiser was." Chris Jericho and his Hogan-like claim.
Plus, Daniel Bryan was going to be the first to cash in his MITB with notice.

Do some people just look for s*** to nitpick about when it comes to WWE? Why does it bother you that some people notice and just don't blindly accept lies and exaggerations? It's not "nit-picking." Nit-picking would be me saying that it's stupid that a spontaneous debut or return is met with exact pre-cued theme music. Calling WWE out on stupid, insecure falsities is common sense for people who actually pay attention to things. Liars should always be exposed. WWE should brag about real things they excel at. Not make up bullshit to validate the fragile egos of certain upper-management, desperate to be seen as legit and respectable mainstream entertainment, rather than an archaic old boy network of out of touch carnies.

Sometimes even their factual statements are there to convey a false idea. For example, saying that the WrestleMania DVD outsold the Super Bowl DVD. Sure, I don't doubt that, who buys Super Bowls on DVD other than the hardcore fans of the winning team? But what WWE is implying is that WrestleMania is more popular than the Super Bowl.
And you can tell that bothers Vince when he was in Green Bay and stated sternly that nothing, not even the Super Bowl supersedes WrestleMania.

Who seriously takes advertising speech as gospel truth?
Or do you same people believe that 4 different pizza chains are "America's Favorite", or that McDonald's actually has served Trillions of People, or that Dr Pepper makes you tear off your clothes and march down a street in spontaneous dance?
The WWE is advertising. That's all it is. Don't pretend it's anything other than that.

So does that mean I'm actually 700 people? I was thinking it was starting to get crowded in here. Randy, is that you? MORE PEOPLE HAVE WATCHED RAW THAN LAST YEARS SUPERBOWL! They actually did something very similar to that last year, when they claimed more people attended every RAW of that year, combined, than Super Bowl XLVI. Every RAW of the year....to ONE event. I wish I was making this up. This looks like fun! Let me try. Did you know? More people attended the Hyundai A-League last year than attended WrestleMania 28. Ha! Suck it Vince!

Let's flip this one: On an average monday, people will spend more time in the bathroom than they will watching RAW.
During June 2007, nothing happened. at all.

More people tuned in to watch American Idol's lowest rated episodes than RAW's highest.

MORE PEOPLE HAVE WATCHED RAW THAN LAST YEARS SUPERBOWL! How about the "More people have attended WWE shows last year than the Super Bowl, World Series and some other major sporting event combined!" The sheer number of WWE events would likely lead to that mark being passed by at least August.

This reminds me of a different thread from a few years ago. "Did you Know" screens that you'd never see.
Did you know... To date, more than two dozen former WWE talents died before the age of 40?
WWE claimed to be marketed at adults and teens while agressively courting children?
Former World Heavyweight Champion Chris Benoit murdered his wife and son before taking his own life?
WWE actively supports "no name callling" day...while listing the best insults in history on WWE.com
Former WWE Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin has admitted to drunk driving and spousal abuse.
Nearly every former WWE and World Heavyweight Champion has been divorced at least once...except HHH, who started dating his wife while dating another Superstar.

Adding the raw numbers of each individual game is how the MLB has measured attendance for years. They claim that around 2-3 million fans attend each teams stadium each year when that is clearly counting duplicates. No one takes them to task for it.

That's the whole point of this thread. Bullshit is bullshit, and liars should always be exposed or accountable.

Just like how McDonalds says 50 trillion people served they don't mean there's that many people. lieNoun. 1. a false statement made with deliberate intent to deceive; an intentional untruth; a falsehood; something intended or serving to convey a false impression;
What they do in the business world is irrelevant to the fact that it, at its root, is incorrect or a blatant deception. What WWE is claiming is not true in any shape or form. There is no exceptions or excuses. It is what it is. Holding other corrupt business proclamations as evidence of it being acceptable is silly. The question wasn't whether it should bother you, it was that it was untrue. And it is. All of it. No matter what the math.
