He's a good choice, but I'm surprised he would do Star Wars and Star Trek. Gotta be a dream come true for him, so that's cool. It makes sense they would want to go with someone like Abrams, he's guaranteed money.

I'll wait for even more confirmation. If it's true, I wonder what happens to Star Trek.

Well......ok.......
He'll probably make a great movie, but I can think of better directors I'd rather see do this as this will likely mean no ST3 for him, and I enjoyed his first attempt and like the look of the new one too.

He'd be a better fit for Wars than Trek in my opinion.

I thought he had declined earlier. Still, I like most of what he does so I'm interested.

He would not have been my first choice, but I am ok with this. He has always been a mixed bag with me, loved MI:III, enjoyed Star Trek and I hate Super 8 with a passion. If I was them I would have hired someone with more experience in the director role, as he has mostly produced and written.
I felt Peter Jackson or Del Toro would have been perfect but I am willing to give J J a chance. I am also interested to hear what happens to Trek now

A gif of Daniel Bryan would pretty much sum up my thoughts on this.

So the next Star Trek convention he goes to is going to be awkward...

Will this lead to the Star Trek Wars or the Star Wars Trek?

Considering how good Star Trek was, I'm fine with this. Better to have a director who wouldn't just throw CGI into everything rather than someone like Michael Bay.
