imgur.com/a/PiJLkAn interesting look at all the things the animators were allowed to do for King of the Hill (at least in the early days)

I assumed this was going to detail things that aren't accepted in the show, such as Bob Clampett-style stretching.
Instead, it's pretty interesting how particular they are with the littlest of things that us viewers would otherwise probably miss.

I'm pretty sure Boomhower laughed and smiled at least once.

I'm pretty sure Boomhower laughed and smiled at least once. I believe these were from early into the show's development, before they changed a few things.

Yup, I clearly remember Dale flipping his glasses up several seasons in... when Nancy and Dale hooked up again and stop having an affair with John Redcorn.

Judge's style is pretty atypical from what a lot of animators usually emphasize, but it works well for his characters/stories.
And a lot of these tips are pretty funny when you read them in a Hank Hill voice.

Reminds me of similar tips for Invader Zim, detailing how Dib is Jhonen's favorite character, and not to draw him as too athletic, and to give him a noticeably large head. "He is not Spider-Man."

It's always interesting to take a sneak peek at artists' behind the scenes work. Most sort of these make sense to create a unique style, an atmosphere or just to make things look better or more realistic, but there are some choices that I just find weird, like:
_do not hold eyes closed during drinking; _no laughing with head down & eyes closed; _Dale does not flip his shades up; _no smoke on Dale's cigarette; _LED numbers always being the same color; _beer being light amber colored and not chocolate brown. What, does no-one drink brown beers in KOTH?
I also love some of the little notes like "not to imply that Hank couldn't kick Redcorn's ass if he was really pissed". ;D
