Is actually a really fun little match, with a bit if 'celebrity' involvement. Watching the show through now. Don't remember the full thing being bad but rather good!
So... What did you guys think of the Singapore Cane match?

Loved it. Was a really fun, innovative and exciting match. Exceeded all my expectations.
One problem I had with that match though was that Big Show ended up getting injured and couldn't make the Australian tour. I was rather excited to get a chance to see him.

Big show looks in awesome shape during the match too. Looks like a monster of a man.

His return in 2008 was easily the best shape he had been in since his early WCW days I believe. He had really slimmed down and worked hard yet still managed to keep a lot of girth and appear as a monster.

That's the match where Punk gives Shawne Merriman a cane to hit... Chavo? Right?
It's funny, because Punk and Merriman had that big, bitchy internet feud last year-ish.

What I want to know is when did the kendo stick officially become the Singapore cane in the WWE? In fact, I don't know why they call it a Singapore cane, since I doubt most fans would get a reference that old. Kendo stick sounds so much cooler.

My best guess would be when this American kid committed vandalism in Singapore and was sentenced to jail and caning. It did get some attention in America, with President Clinton appealing to the government to not go ahead with the caning. That's the only possibility I can think of when it comes to the words "Singapore" and "cane" together. Thing is, using the real Singapore cane from our jails would probably have been too extreme even for ECW.
