What are some modes, aspects and other stuff of old wwf and wwe videogames that haven't been in a game in a while for seemingly no logical reason?
I'll start, Survivor Series matches! And I mean the a full 4 on 4 or 5 on 5 match, the old genesis games had this, im sure there is a way to have a 3 on 3 elimination tag, but thats too small imo.
The ability to fight off the stage and go through the arena.

Do the new games still have a *DING* when the old balls get nailed?

Do the new games still have a *DING* when the old balls get nailed? I still laugh every time I hear this on WM2000.

Indestructable weapons that you can use to your heart's content. Don't remember the game (it was one the N64) but I used to love picking up a chair and literally just holding down the button for like a minute as I turned the target into paste. They would try to get up but you'd beat them back down.Over and over and over and over and.... The body would get to the point where they would just twitch when you hit them. It might have even been WCW/NWO World Tour.

Definitely Buried Alive matches and the ability to brawl backstage. Theres nothing like starting a match in the ring, brawling all the way through the back, outside, all the way to the subway terminal or WWF New York, and back to the ring to finish your opponent off. Good times.

Matches with eight superstars. Granted, the character models of Just Bring It didn't exactly push the PS2's capabilities, so that's probably why games from Shut Your Mouth onwards didn't have that feature.

Don't know why but for some reason after I think SVR2006 they took 2 vs. 2. vs. 2 Hardcore, Ladder, Table and TLC matches.

Also I haven't played the most recent WWE games but some things I loved about No Mercy were:
1. The fact that you could make a royal rumble with as many as 40 superstars(lol game before it's time when you think about it) or you can lower it down to like 8 and anything in between. I think in a lot of current games the Royal Rumble is always 30 or you have the option of only 30, 20, and 10 or something like that.
2. The fact that you could customize the Royal Rumble(Battle Royal?) and other match types to be how you wanted them to be. For instance, if you wanted a Royal Rumble/Battle Royal that was submission only you could do it. If you wanted a falls count anywhere hardcore Battle Royal you could do it. Even with singles matches things like a knockout and submission only match were possible if you modified the setting. You could even do things like a first blood battle royal. Think about it, that's insane!
3. The fact that you could modify moves to make them truly unique because they split things up. For instance. In later games The People's Elbow lead straight into the elbow drop but in No Mercy the people's elbow was manual and you had to press the button to jump over your opponent and also to actually hit them when they're down. But that's not all you could modify the end of the move because the animation stopped once your character got to his opponent. In other words if you wanna make the people's elbow animation end with you giving your opponent a leg drop instead of an elbow. You could do that. If you wanted the animation to end with you giving your opponent a headbutt, knee drop, or a big splash then you could do that too. There were other variations of this too so you could get creative with the moves if you wanted to. You weren't locked in to a long animation where you don't have to touch the controller you had freedom to do what you wanted to a certain extent and add your own twist to moves.
For example the 619 animation in the Smackdown games are locked in you can not modify what Mysterio does at the end. However if that move was in No Mercy you could probably add a leg drop, head butt, 450 or whatever else you wanted to the end because that's where the animation ended. You weren't stuck with that one animation because the animation would stop right there and allow you to hit any move you wanted.
Blargh, nostalgia.
