When did that crappy invasion storyline begin? My memory isn't so great.

Really it could have started the night WCW was brought when Shane took over it. Or WM 17 itself when they showed WCW talent in a sky box. Most people would say the next night when Lance Storm did his run in.

You see, the contract does say McMahon.... but the full name reads SHANE MCMAHON.
I have purchased WCW!

Purchase and Shane usurping Vince was Mar. 26, 2001 May 28, 2001 Lance Storm was the first to attack WWE by running in on Perry Saturn and Terri v. Blackman and Trish match.
Either of those.

My timeline of events is all over the place.
What I will say is this - was I the only person that enjoyed the whole angle?

I remember having a huge conversation at school between about 5 of us about Test being the mole in the camp. Great times.

It actually kind of bugs me that so many people trash on Lance Storm being the first WCW star to kick off the Invasion. Sure, he was mainly an upper-midcard guy in WCW, but the show he appeared on was right in his backyard in Alberta, Canada. He HAD to be there.

Explain Hugh Morrus running in the following week in Minneapolis. HMM?

Also I feel like some of that is revisionist on alot of people's part.
At the time, Lance had a huge rocket strapped to his back in WCW, he had held numerous titles, was clearly being groomed to be a top star for them. When he showed up, it was a big deal, I remember being on the internet at the time. Alot of internet fans were buzzing over it.
It seems like only after WWF's systematic burial of the guy that people now look back on it and scoff.

I'd say Steiner and Jarrett were the only heels booked ahead of him.
