Why?
Well, actually. I have two well formed questions about trends I've seen around here lately.
First, where is the assumption that Ziggler can cash in on the WWE title coming from? It's been pretty well stated his briefcase is for the World Heavyweight Title, so what gives?
The answer I've seen is the cynical, "Well WWE will just do it to do it and write up some reason", but with no proof of other times when MITB was changed to suit their needs (outside of injury angles).
Second, and this is a little more direct, but why have so many people been so sure about him unifying the titles? Did I miss something or is this armchair booking?
I thought they have two titles because they tour with separate rosters (not brands anymore but its the same thing).
These are two questions that sort of bug me the more I read about these scenarios happening, and with plenty of seeming confidence too.

I think people are suggesting dolph unifying the title as what they wish happen, rather than what they expect to happen. Mostly due to the fact that those people wish for 1 major title.

Just because it hasn't been done before doesn't mean they could not/would not do it. It's not like the MITB comes with strict rules anyway, like with the whole "champ needs to be able to stand" thing.

the title unification thought comes from the idea of him winning the Royal Rumble and challenging for and winning the WWE Championship, then cashing in Money in the Bank on the World Heavyweight championship

But still that idea gets tossed around a lot even when there's close to zero indication of it being a possibility. Another thing is, it seems quite a few don't even know that the contract is only for the WHC

It's one of those things where you can tell it's being said enough to the point where if it doesn't happen, people will complain they dropped the ball.

My question about a hypothetical title unification is: Does the guy who wins both titles have to defend both simultaneously every time, or can title matches be for just one of them?
On the topic, I don't think it's too implausible they have some guy win both titles in the future. I just don't see it being Ziggler this year (I'd like that to happen, though).

Ok seriously, Dolph Ziggler is NOT winning the Royal Rumble
I'm tired of seeing how many people honestly believe this is going to happen when the guy already has a free title shot to his name

Hell they could do what they did to Steve Austin in '97 where he won the Royal Rumble, but the authority figure(Gorilla Monsoon) denied him the title opportunity. I could see Vickie doing the same to Ziggler if he were to win the Rumble, especially since he will probably be receiving help throughout the match from AJ and Big E. Langston.

I'm sure there were people out there saying that Rey Mysterio would never win or that ADR wouldn't win. (Kinda wishing the latter hadn't but still)
