Inspired by today's Amazon Gold Box Deal of the Day, which features The Godfather Collection (The Coppola Restoration) ON BLU-RAY for $17.99, let's discuss probably the most famous movie trilogy of all time. Now THAT'S an offer you can't refuse, or you'll find a horse's head in your bed! We have Marlon Brando as The Don, Al Pacino as Michael Corleone who has Satan stuck up his ass, James Caan as the aggressive Santino 'Sonny' Corleone, Robert Duvall as the ever dependable Tom Hagen, plus we also have Sofia Coppola, who is so cute as a baby yet so horrible as an adult. Those are all amongst a series of characters that are truly endearing and enduring to the franchise. So FAN'ers, discuss amongst yourselves!

The first two are the greatest original and sequel of all time. The third is only crapped on because 1 and 2 are perfect; it is still a great movie and a fitting end.

The third isn't as bad as it's often stated, but it's not that great, either. I actually find Diane Keaton (phoning it in about as bad as any actor in history) and Al Pacino (unfortunately on the way to his HOO-AH!!!! style) to be more detrimental than Sofia Coppola, who wasn't an actress and not even supposed to be in the film until Winona Ryder dropped out.

I think's it hurt also by the fact it's titled Godfather III. Coppola wanted to call it "The Death of Michael Corleone" but was overruled by Paramount. Similar to Halloween III, I think you go into a film with a certain set of expectations and Godfather III just couldn't live up to them.

As for the blu-ray, if you don't have it, BUY IT RIGHT NOW. Just gorgeous.

That's an offer I can't refuse...except I already bought this set from Amazon when it was like $21 or $25. Great movies.

The Godfather III isn't terrible. But it's more or rather a bookend to the first two. Sometimes I re watch the second one and I like it a hair grain better than the original. But both films are masterpieces in cinema.

There is no man ever who is as beautiful as De Niro is in that second film, which is funny, because I think he's rather ordinary-looking in every other film he's made.
But yeah, amazing series.

The Godfather III may not be absolutely terrible, but it's not even close to being on the level as the other two. It's hurt by the fact that it does focus too much on Michael...there's no Tom...and death by cannolis? It had NONE of the intensity that made the first two movies so great. The only thing I did like, and I can't believe that I'm writing this, was Andy Garcia.
I love the first movie. The second movie is great, but vastly overrated as equal or superior, which I would not agree with. The third movie happened...and well, it just happened.

let's discuss probably the most famous movie trilogy of all time. Star Wars? That's another great one too. However, I don't think the original trilogy will ever be presented in their original states ever again . At least with your Godfathers and Aliens, everyone involved in the projects got it right.

The third is massively underrated, and if it was its own film without the Godfather name, it most likely wouldn't get the hate that it does.

Godfather part III was a good end but nothing special.
I and II are absolute classics.

Hey guys, the price only went up to $20.99! If you haven't yet and want to purchase it, they still won't feel as bad as the cop who knocked out Michael!
