3-person stables/groups/tag teams

Has anybody else noticed that almost all the factions/stables (if you can even call them that) since mid-2011 have only had three members?

AJ, Biggy, Ziggles.
Clay and the Funkadactyls.
All World Promotions* (AW+PTP).
3 Man Band.
Laurinaitis, Eve, Otunga.
The Colons y Rosa.
Khali, 'swoggle, Nattie.
Vickie + ZigSwag.
The Shield.

* I think the "All World Promotions" set-up with the Colons, Rosa, and AW is the last non-threesome of late.

Also, the last incarnations of both the New Nexus and Corre had three members. Just something I noticed. Do you think this is intentional on WWE's part?
