KENTA won the GHC Heavyweight Title today against Takeshi Morishima, who had held it for over a year. If NOAH had their wits about them, KENTA would have won that title ages ago. Almost as bad as ROH in putting off crowning champions the fans want.

Yeah, I don't care for KENTA personally, but this is several years too late for it to really do much good. Had they struck while the iron was hot...who knows what differences could've been made for their company.

I usually hate any kind of "It's too late to put the title on this guy" talk, but...
Yeah. This COULD have put NOAH on track a few years ago.

Too late or not, congratulations to KENTA. Dude is a phenomenal worker.

Especially when Kobashi was still relatively healthy, Misawa was alive and Jun was still on the roster. You commit finally to having KENTA be the unofficial poster boy he's been for them and have him face, and beat these men. Along the way taking on some other, younger, talent too. Eventually dropping the title to somebody already made or perhaps even Jun for a transitional reign to show the old guard isn't completely outdated.

NOAH had to do something to draw some positive attention to them. Shame, that Kenta winning the big one comes off as a Hail Mary instead of a momentous event.

Well, it's already late. No one gives a damn about NOAH now and it took them THAT long to put the belt on KENTA. They have some wonky booking.

I know little about Puro, but isn't KENTA similar to Rob Van Dam? (Stiff as hell even for puro standards, bad attitude) If so, I can sort of see why they wouldn't put the strap on him. Still, congrats to him for getting it.

Still, congrats to him for getting it. The stiffness thing is debatable. On the one hand, he is a little reckless with it and it's one of the reasons why I don't really care for him. On the other hand, I wouldn't say he's outright the stiffest wrestler ever or anything. There are others, who have been pushed even more dominantly than him, that are just as bad as him. I had never really heard of a bad attitude, though that could be true. Either way though, that hasn't stopped promoters, especially ones in Japan, from pushing somebody before. Misawa, for example, while beloved wasn't exactly known for being the sweetest guy to ever lace his boots.
