It's called, "giving the midcard something to do". Not everybody can be in the main event at the same time. He's entertaining, he's prominent, he's in a storyline, he's on TV constantly. There's not a MAIN EVENT spot for him at the moment, with Rock/Cena/Punk, but that doesn't make him a loser, I'm still glad he's on my TV. That spot ain't opening up. You know it. I know it. WWE is stacked with too many people no matter what time of the year it is. And it's not going to get any better.

But I think he'll have brushes with the main event and world titles before he's done.

But guys like Ziggler, Del Rio, Sheamus have been pushed over him, and none of them get the reactions he does. That's what I question. You can break it down into all kinds of little things, but in the end you have this really good wrestler who the fans love to cheer for. Instead of trying to get other guys to that point, why not just have him in that spot?

This night I felt that Daniel Bryan's spot as Kane's Goofy Sidekick is really becoming a waste of his talent. Wouldn't it have been cool if he won the Royal Rumble and got back into doing things of consequence? You act like anything is of consequence is happening now in the WWE

I just want him to go back to doing the side-skipping "YES!" entrance.

I always feared this was going to happen, and he's only digging himself deeper week by week. At the end of the day, it's up to the WWE if they want people to take him serious after the Team Hell No thing blows over.
At this point the team is just used for a good laugh here and there but not much more. I just want Kane and Daniel to split up already, it's kinda ran its course. Let them do their own thing now.

I think he's fine. He seems to be filling the Kurt Angle role of someone that can kick people's asses but is yucking it up right now. He's always presented as a legit threat and all it takes is him snapping or getting serious and he's golden again. Preach. Daniel Bryan is fantastic in this role now and looks to be really enjoying himself. He's had lots of good times in 2011 and 2012, and there are many more ahead in 2013. When he becomes a serious heel, he'll probably destroy that role, too.

Kurt angle was funny joking, cowboy hat wearing, little guitar playing, sex fiend stalker but at a single moment he went into insane bad assery mode and that's the role I see Bryan filing

I have a feeling that if things keep going like they have been with Daniel Bryan, he's basically going to end up as the "new" Santino.

Another can't please everybody case: A large, loud segment of fans (at least on the 'net) screamed to the heavens forever about wanting WWE to "bring back the tag teams." WWE is doing that, and Team Hell No is the best, most interesting and dominant tag pairing since either JeriShow or Miz and Morrison, depending on how you look at it. But then someone feels that's nothing of consequence. Watch the tag match tonight and you'll see Bryan's wrestling is booked and taken pretty seriously, and that Kane and Daniel are an important part of that midcard people like to say the WWE doesn't have -- they have a long-running storyline with their anger management issues, they are over with the crowd (especially Bryan) and they make the tag belts feel more important than they have in ages. But that's just a waste of time, apparently. I have a question: if they were using Sheamus in this role instead of Bryan, would you feel the same way? Or would you want Sheamus to eventually move on to challenge for a world title again, and feel that it would be a waste to keep him in a tag team with Kane past a certain point? I vote that Team Hell No drop the titles since they've held them long enough, put over somebody in the process (Rhodes Scholars, PTP, The Shield, whoever), and then continue to tag together while Bryan goes after either the WHC or WWE championship, and wins it.

I'll just say, as somebody who's followed Bryan Danielson/Daniel Bryan since 2004, that he further showed me last night why he's truly the best on the planet. Dude just gets it; the way he'd cover his ears during Kane's pyro, plus the facial expressions he matched with it, were fantastic.
That said, the writers blew a chance for a HUGE pop: should've had Bryan eliminate Kane, get knocked into Kane's arms...and then have Kane put him back in the ring. Crowd would've absolutely exploded.

The way that they're presented is like they're two main eventers who are just coasting because the World Title scene is full.

I don't see a problem at all with what Daniel Bryan's doing, personally. Is it really any different from all the times DX would be silly in promos and then get serious in the ring?

I'd rather be in Daniel Bryan's spot than Tyson Kidd's, for example.
I'm sure he'll be booked to be a world champion again before his time is done. I do agree that if Kane put him back in the ring, the crowd would have gone nuts. I'd have preferred to see that happen.

I just fear this will lead to the inevitable Kane heel turn, and a too predictable Bryan vs Kane match at WM.

I've thought Daniel Bryan has slowly but surely become the new Kurt Angle, which is fantastic. As stated before, Kurt was one of the goofiest guys around at one point, but in the ring the dude was brutal. Just like last night when Bryan came in and was just laying kicks into everyone, the crowd was loving it. I know a lot of people want to see him be srs and go after a title, but the dude is realllllly good at what he is doing right now.

I am not worried, he is a champion and tapped out his opponent for the win last night and even got to eliminate Kane. Things could be a lot worse
